MyFitnessPal Sync Question

I am VERY confused about the FitBit dashboard. I prefer to log my activities in My Fitness Pal and have them sync over to FitBit. I am a big runner/walker. How do I get my steps and distance to show on the Fitbit Dashboard under the activity listing that is transported from FitBit? I know that I can just have it record the activity from the FitBit itself and it will show that information. However, I absolutely hate it. The map is all off. It shows me running back and forth across town when I am in my gym on a treadmill. I would prefer not to have a map at all than to have a highly inaccurate one. I would like to show the distance and steps under the listing so I can see how I did for the day compared to others. I can run for 30 minutes every day but the distance will be different. If this is something that I can add in My Fitness Pal where do I add that information? The only information I see to add is minutes and calories.

I have a Flex by the way.

You can't do what you are asking because MFP does not record that information. If you do not wish to manually log your activity here, you might give Endomondo a try. It is a free app and will connect with Fitbit. You can red more about it here. One note, do not connect it to both Fitbit and MFP or you may end up with double tracking. Just connect it to your Fitbit account.
