Fitbit Update 10/29/2015: As this issue has now been resolved, I am closing the thread from further discussion.

Thank you to everyone who reported this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved. Happy to know that your food logs are back to normal! Robot Very Happy

Fitbit Update 10/25/2015

Syncing food from MFP to Fitbit is now back to normal. Thank you again for everybody's patience while this problem was being worked out.

Fitbit Update 10/22/2015: MyFitnessPal is aware and has added this to their known issues page. Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are closely working together to get this issue resolved ASAP.

In the meantime, a workaround to try is to manually delete the duplicate entries from your Fitbit Food Log. In order to delete duplicate entries, do the following:

  1. Go to your Fitbit Food Log.
  2. Hover over the duplicate food item, an "X" should appear on the left-hand side.
  3. Click the "X" to delete the entry (illustrated below).

Another option is to unlink your MyFitnessPal account from your Fitbit account and checking your calories on MFP until the multiplying issue is fully resolved!

Thank you for your continued patience as we work alongside MFP to get this issue resolved!

Fitbit Update 10/21/2015: Some users have reported that their MyFitnessPal food log entries are being multiplied on their Fitbit Food Log.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are both aware of the issue. We are currently working on resolving this issue with MFP's help. MyFitnessPal has also posted an update here as well. I will share updates here with everyone when I find out more! Thank you for your patience! Robot Very Happy

Having the same issue. For now, I've just edited my Fitbit dashboard to exclude food counting and also stopped the MFP syncing with Fitbit. I will use each separately until they fix.

I'm having the same issue so you're not alone!  It must be a glitch in the system.  Hope they fix it soon!!

I am having exactly the same problem here, have tried a few things to fix it but like you it is only telling me I have eaten more each time. Hoping it might sort itself out but if I have any luck in the meantime I will post back. Glad it's not just me, hopefully that means it's a bug! Fingers crossed

I thought I should check that FitBit were aware of the issue, so I just used the Support Chat option.

The conversation went like this,

Me: Hi, I just wanted to check that FitBit are aware of the current MyFitnessPal syncing errors and are working to resolve the issue.

Elder: I am sorry to hear that you have issues to sync with MyFitnessPal.

Elder: and this time our Fitbit app is working properly, if you have issue syncing with MyFitnessPal you should contact with them to fix that issue

not an encouraging start, but after further discussion he said would pass the info onto the engineers, who hopefully are already aware of the issue anyway.

I just had the same problem with my recording of food today as well.  My acutal calories eaten are 1162 on my fitnesspal  but the fitbit is showing over 9000??

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks Roxanne

Hi, first post, sorry if I'm meant to do an introduction or something first.

My problem is not necessarily Charge HR related, but it is not specifically related to any one of the FitBit apps either, so I'm posting here, purely because I use an HR.

So, every day before today I record my food in MyFitnessPal and, whichever FitBit app I'm using syncs with that data, so everything is updated on the In/Out graph.  Today, however, rather than the usual import each meal as a summary of the total values, it's importing each item individually, plus combinations of items, plus the total.  As a result, I have recorded 1406 calories on MyFitnessPal so far today, but FitBit is showing that I have consumed 4041 calories.

I have no way of knowing whether the problem is with FitBit's interpretation of the data or with the data MyFitnessPal is exporting.  Just wondered if anyone else is experiencing similar issues or has done in the past and whether they were resolved by any action that I can take.

I haven't changed any settings or anything I'm doing for this to occur, so I assume it's related to a change that either FitBit or MyFitnessPal have made.

I tried disconnecting and reconnecting as suggested, and it just doubled everything again. Also anything I remove from MFP it treats as an add.

It's not an app thing; I'm adding via MFP's site.

I am having the same issue. My little graph looks like I am in binge mode!

There are at least three threads devoted to this now, but I have reported the problem to Fitbit, so hopefully they are working on a fix.

Mine too! Each time I try to fix it, it just adds more. It's worse since I apdated the app this evening. All previous data on calorie intake has vanished too😔

I tried this too, but after it syncs again, it just re-adds the duplicates.  Also, even where it appears correctly on fitbit.com, the app does not seem to recognize that the log has changed.

At least this is a wide issue, presumably related to the update to the fitbit app.  I am downloading the update, hopefully that will help.

Thanks for the reply!  Knowing that it's not just me - like you said - probably means it's just a bug, and the good folks at FitBit will get it sorted out. 🙂

Same here. Can't stop it happening but easy to fix the calorie count by deleting the wrongly imported meal summaries.

It's only been happening today so something must have changed.

Just go into the meal summary section and remove all the duplicates until it's fixed.

Having the same issue, but also my workouts logged in MyFitnessPal/MapMyFitness are showing up twice.  Does anyone know if that is also a known issue?

Yeeah. Umm.  Didn't even think about deleting the extra meals.  Smiley Embarassed  Haha.

Thanks!  Hopefully the bug'll be fixed soon, too.

I stopped trying to fix it when I saw the calories just kept going up. Smiley Tongue

I was having the same problem.  I updated my app on my Iphone and now it seems to be working just like it should.    Scratch that...I'm still having issues.

Just chiming in to agree that this problem is back. Fitbit thinks I ate breakfast five times today.

Didn't realise I could delete them, as usually do most things through the app, thanks so much! Was driving me a we bit loopy! 🙊

Hello, all, I am going to go ahead and move this post to "Third-Party Integrations" because it seems to be an issue with the combination of MFP and My Fitness Pal, and there are various in other forums with people having this issue.  I'll make sure Fitbit is aware!

Sense, Charge 5, Inspire 2; iOS and Android
