Fitbit Update 10/25/2015

Syncing food from MFP to Fitbit is now back to normal. Thank you again for everybody's patience while this problem was being worked out.

Fitbit Update 10/22/2015: MyFitnessPal is aware and has added this to their known issues page. Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are closely working together to get this issue resolved ASAP.

In the meantime, a workaround to try is to manually delete the duplicate entries from your Fitbit Food Log. In order to delete duplicate entries, do the following:

  1. Go to your Fitbit Food Log.
  2. Hover over the duplicate food item, an "X" should appear on the left-hand side.
  3. Click the "X" to delete the entry (illustrated below).

Another option is to unlink your MyFitnessPal account from your Fitbit account and checking your calories on MFP until the multiplying issue is fully resolved!

Thank you for your continued patience as we work alongside MFP to get this issue resolved!

Fitbit Update 10/21/2015: Some users have reported that their MyFitnessPal food log entries are being multiplied on their Fitbit Food Log.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are both aware of the issue. We are currently working on resolving this issue with MFP's help. MyFitnessPal has also posted an update here as well. I will share updates here with everyone when I find out more! Thank you for your patience! Robot Very Happy

Hello,
I'm having a problem with the "calories left" section. The calories I have eaten are accurate, the calories burned is accurate, but calories Remaining is about 1000 calories over what I actually have left. This occurred yesterday too, but

I'm having the same problem.

Why does the Fitbit say I have burned 937 calories when I have only done 744 steps?

Mine did that today. I fixed it by double tapping the circle button and then swiping up on the fitbit app to close it. This forces a hard restart of the app and a new sync. After that, my calories were fine.

For the past 2 days I noticed that my calories were brought over incorrectly from My Fitness Pal. Yesterday my snacks came over twice and tonight my dinner 3 times. They were different calorie totals. Almost seems like every time I added another item to my dinner it brought a new total over. I was able to manually delete the extra calories and I unlinked my accounts and relinked. Is anyone else having this problem or know what else I should do?

@TracyV125 Thanks for the report. I haven't heard anything regarding this issue with extra calories. I'm going to investigate. Meanwhile, try to force quit the app, reset your devices's Bluetooth and then test your app again. Let me know how it works!

I have my fitbit synced with my fitnesspal and there at least oneeal a day it adds more calories than I eat... Like there will be two things under breakfast one day it added 2 extra sets of calories to supper and I didn't eat those calories at all

I've been having the same problem and I entered it in a topic just before I saw this one.

In fact, I don't think it's the app at all but something behing the scenes in the sync'ing of the data between the websites because tonight I updated my MFP dinner info from the MFP website (not the app) and then went to the FitBit website (not app) and it showed two dinners.

I marked this as solved yesterday but it happened to me again last night with my snacks. I have to manually delete the duplicate on the fitbit side.

Here's a clue. Just now I entered some of what I plan to have for lunch in MFP on their website. FitBit had it correct. Then I added some items to lunch via the MFP app on my phone. Then FitBit had it as 2 separate lunches. So the "first" lunch shouldn't be there. It isn't merging things correctly if you update a meal, it seems. I will delete the first entry.

This may not be the only cause. I think it may have happened in the past even if I entered all of my food in MFP one way or the other.

I usually only use the app and my problems listed here occurred when using the apps only. I didn't come back and add more to snacks or dinner later. I did it one item at a time. One day I scanned 3 barcodes to add to dinner and got 3 dinner totals. 1 with 1 item, the 2nd with 2 items and the 3rd with all 3 items.

Interesting. I just logged some kefir for breakfast and water and it came over correctly. I then went back and logged lunch and that also came over correctly.  Currently my calorie intake for the day matches on both sites. Note, I entered this on the MFP website, not the app. Is everyone having this issue logging food in the MFP app? If so, Android, Windows Phone or iOS?
