Fitbit Update 10/29/2015: As this issue has now been resolved, I am closing the thread from further discussion.

Thank you to everyone who reported this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved. Happy to know that your food logs are back to normal! Robot Very Happy

Fitbit Update 10/25/2015

Syncing food from MFP to Fitbit is now back to normal. Thank you again for everybody's patience while this problem was being worked out.

Fitbit Update 10/22/2015: MyFitnessPal is aware and has added this to their known issues page. Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are closely working together to get this issue resolved ASAP.

In the meantime, a workaround to try is to manually delete the duplicate entries from your Fitbit Food Log. In order to delete duplicate entries, do the following:

  1. Go to your Fitbit Food Log.
  2. Hover over the duplicate food item, an "X" should appear on the left-hand side.
  3. Click the "X" to delete the entry (illustrated below).

Another option is to unlink your MyFitnessPal account from your Fitbit account and checking your calories on MFP until the multiplying issue is fully resolved!

Thank you for your continued patience as we work alongside MFP to get this issue resolved!

Fitbit Update 10/21/2015: Some users have reported that their MyFitnessPal food log entries are being multiplied on their Fitbit Food Log.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are both aware of the issue. We are currently working on resolving this issue with MFP's help. MyFitnessPal has also posted an update here as well. I will share updates here with everyone when I find out more! Thank you for your patience! Robot Very Happy

I can manually delete within FitBit which I did the one time.  Then I went into MFP and deleted the entries there, closed and reopened MFP and put in lunch again.  Went to FitBit and it was tripled again.  I just checked after a couple of hours and the incorrect numbers are still there.  If not sync'd by tonight I'll manually delete.  I have always had a small issue with the numbers not matching.  MFP will show I have eaten 1600 calories and FitBit says 1710.  It's never 100% accurate but I follow MFP since that's where I input my meals.  My wife has the FitBit Charge HR and has the same issue with inaccuracies but hers are off by a higher number, like a few hundred calories wrong.

Me too! I log all my calories through MFP and it syncs with fitbit. It's just the way I do it and I always have but today....

MyFitnessPal:

Breakfast: 7 + 70 calories =77

Lunch: 75+160+150+80= 465

Dinner: 0

Snacks: 0 (i logged snacks under lunch but that's besides the point)

Total: 542

Fitbit App:

Breakfast: 147 + 7 = 154

Lunch: 465+385+75+235 = 1160

Dinner: 235+160+75 = 470

Snacks: 140

Total: 1924

It seems to be compounding each entry.

After talking with a rep at fitbit he instructed me that I have to for now disconnect the two reading and leave it disconnected until further notice. NOT ACCEPTABLE!

My short term solution has been to delete items manually from the dashboard but that doesn't work as this morning it logged over 4000 calories in and I deleted all those, reinstalled the app and it's still giving me issues.

I have been actively using my Fitbit for 4 days, the first 3 days have been great, just getting to understand it better. However today the Fitbit app is showing extra random calories from syncing with myfitnesspal. I can see that myfitnesspal is showing correctly but my fitness pal is showing 3 entries for breakfast, 3 for dinner....not duplicated or taken obviously from previous days? It has taken me way over the calorie input for today. Please can someone let me know how to delete the irrelevant entries and also stop it happening again?
Thanks

Newest version doing weird things syncing calories from MyFitnessPal, duplicating calorie data and adding random calorie numbers. For example, entered 711 calories worth of food into MyFitnesPal yet FitBit app showing 4000 calories with multiple entries for lunch. Same with breakfast, dinner, and snacks.

I did a live chat with a person from Fitbit. The only way I could remedy the problem currently was to go to the fitbit website.
Click on the gear in the upper right.
Select settings.
Select applications from the menu buttons on the left side of the settings screen and then remove the MyFitnessPal application.
After successfully doing that, I went on to the MyFitnessPal website.
I logged in and then clicked the tab for "Apps" at the top of the page.
I then scrolled down the page to App marketplace and selected the "get" button for the fitbit app.
After that I wrote down my actual MFP food logs for the day on a piece of paper so that I could manually enter them later.
I then deleted all of my logs for the day on both websites.
On the fitbit.com website, you can do this by clicking just to the left of the individual meal entry. A red circle with an "x" will appear and you can click it again to delete the entry.
I deleted all of the entries for the day on both apps websites.
Then, I closed out and restarted both apps on my phone.
Both apps showed no entries for food for the day.
I then entered my actual food entries that I had written down on paper back in to the MyFitnessPal App, as I normally do.
After doing all this pain-in-the-neck stuff... it finally worked and I no longer had additional entries showing up.
Hopefully, they'll have an app update for both soon to fix this issue, but until then.. this is what worked for now.

So, every time my fitbit app syncs, it adds hundreds of calories to my intake, even though I haven't eaten or input nearly that many into myfitnesspal (which is what i use to track my food). Now, it says I've eaten 10,000 calories. Has anyone had this problem/know how to fix it?

YES!!!!! I am having the same problem and apparently we arent the only folks. I use MFP to input my calories and then it syncs, do use it or another program? They advised they are fixing the issue soon.
I dont see anywhere that fitbit is trying to help???!!
I use it on a per meal basis so this stinks.

It has been doing this today for me as well. I have just been going in and having to delete the extras. Just guessing it is a glitch on one of the sides.

I tried exactly that to fix it and as soon as I entered something new, it
messed up again.

I have a Samsung S4 and use my fitness pal to log calories. It has been doubling and tripling the input when it pulls over to fit bit so I've had to manually delete the additional entries from fitbit so they match.

My fitbit app on the website and iPhone say I've eaten 5,677 calories today, yet My Fitness Pal app is correct.

I a similar problem in Tuesday but with exercise; I had to disconnect my LFconnect app and manually remember be extra excercise. I just st synced my my fitness pal and Fitbit and now am seeing erroneous meals. I do not want to disconnect my fitness pal but I will if I have to. I went to the Fitbit dashboard and deleted all my extra meals.

Yes, it's been particularly bad today, I had like 10+ extra entries before lunch, deleted the extras and then got new extras again Woman Frustrated To delete, there is an X to one side of each entry on the web browser version. I couldn't figure out how to delete entries on my Android app.

I've been using MFP and Fitbit together for years and this does happen occasionally, but it is not usually this bad with this many repeated entries. Hope they fix this glitch, it is annoying.

I have my app set up so that my calorie intake syncs from my fitness pal. For the past 2 days my calorie intake on the app is way too high and does not reflect my intake in my fitness pal. What could be causing this? I deleted all my info from mfp but this didn't resolve the issue.

My Fitbit started adding in any foods that I enter in my fitness pal up to 4 times making it appear that I'm way over in my calorie intake. I have to go online on my computer to delete all the extra calories that it put in. Any one else having this issue?
