Fitbit Update 10/29/2015: As this issue has now been resolved, I am closing the thread from further discussion.

Thank you to everyone who reported this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved. Happy to know that your food logs are back to normal! Robot Very Happy

Fitbit Update 10/25/2015

Syncing food from MFP to Fitbit is now back to normal. Thank you again for everybody's patience while this problem was being worked out.

Fitbit Update 10/22/2015: MyFitnessPal is aware and has added this to their known issues page. Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are closely working together to get this issue resolved ASAP.

In the meantime, a workaround to try is to manually delete the duplicate entries from your Fitbit Food Log. In order to delete duplicate entries, do the following:

  1. Go to your Fitbit Food Log.
  2. Hover over the duplicate food item, an "X" should appear on the left-hand side.
  3. Click the "X" to delete the entry (illustrated below).

Another option is to unlink your MyFitnessPal account from your Fitbit account and checking your calories on MFP until the multiplying issue is fully resolved!

Thank you for your continued patience as we work alongside MFP to get this issue resolved!

Fitbit Update 10/21/2015: Some users have reported that their MyFitnessPal food log entries are being multiplied on their Fitbit Food Log.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are both aware of the issue. We are currently working on resolving this issue with MFP's help. MyFitnessPal has also posted an update here as well. I will share updates here with everyone when I find out more! Thank you for your patience! Robot Very Happy

Having the same exact problem! The Fitbit app is adding meals multiple times. It showed that I had 5800 calories yesterday insteadbof the 1450 i really had.Grrrrr...makes me wish I hadn't installed the latest update!

All of a sudden my device is showing calories that I have not entered. Generally it syncs automatically from My Fitness Pal, but just yesterday started showing all kinds of random calories from somewhere. Anyone have this happen and how did you fix it? I tried to clear by shutting my phone down but no success.TIA

I'm having the same problem.  It is pulling information from my fitness pal which includes the total I had for different meals and I believe other entries on different days and/or individual foods.  Yesterday was the first time it happened and it happened again today.  It's not a solution, but I deleted the incorrect entries.  I think it needs to be reported to fitbit.  Not exactly sure how to do that???

Best Answer

Yes...yesterday I deleted all the incorrect entries as well. Today it recorded 100 cal and I haven't eaten anything yet. I don't know how to report either...but maybe we will find out. Thank you!

Mine is also doubling or tripling what I put into MFP. It only started doing it yesterday.

I had the same problem--7,900 calories versus 1600 (which is correct). My calories are showing up right on MFP so I think it has to be a FitBit issue, even if they are denying it.

I'm having the same problem today. I went in and deleted the extra meal summaries for today. (I had 6 lunch summaries, and 5 breakfast summaries all with different amounts). Could this be an update problem?

I have been using "my fitness pal" to log food along with my Fitbit to to track activity. Since yesterday only, Fitbit app is pulling in each meal more than once resulting in duplicates in each meal. How do I fix this?

I only log my food in MyFitnessPal.  Starting yesterday (or maybe the day before), Fitbit is showing that I have been over-eating!  It will show a line that has the totals for my breakfast, and then show 5 or 6 more rows of data.  Same for lunch and dinner!  I have not changed any settings that I can think of that would cause this to happen all of the sudden.  Help!!

Is there a link to more information about the known issue? Mine has been doing this since the update.

I'm having the same problem. Is there any way to manually edit the food log in Fitbit?

Yes, you can hover over the name on each line and then an X will appear at the left hand side of the line.  That will delete it. You have to do it line by line.

Same here.  I just noted almost 4 times the actual number of calories eaten.

This is such a frustrating issue.  Mine only started doing this two days ago.  My Fitness Pal is correct, so I go back into my Fitbit and go to the log area and delete everything that is not entered on My Fitness Pal.  Hope you get this issue fixed quickly.

This is happening with my android also.  It  is doubling my food values.  Looks as if it is pulling from Weight Watchers and My Fitness Pal.  I never gave permissions for them to link to Weight Watchers.
