Fitbit Update 10/25/2015
Syncing food from MFP to Fitbit is now back to normal. Thank you again for everybody's patience while this problem was being worked out.
Fitbit Update 10/22/2015: MyFitnessPal is aware and has added this to their known issues page. Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are closely working together to get this issue resolved ASAP.
In the meantime, a workaround to try is to manually delete the duplicate entries from your Fitbit Food Log. In order to delete duplicate entries, do the following:
Another option is to unlink your MyFitnessPal account from your Fitbit account and checking your calories on MFP until the multiplying issue is fully resolved!
Thank you for your continued patience as we work alongside MFP to get this issue resolved!
Fitbit Update 10/21/2015: Some users have reported that their MyFitnessPal food log entries are being multiplied on their Fitbit Food Log.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are both aware of the issue. We are currently working on resolving this issue with MFP's help. MyFitnessPal has also posted an update here as well. I will share updates here with everyone when I find out more! Thank you for your patience!

I've had the same problem starting yesterday. I wasn't able to fix it in the iOS app but went on-line to the dashboard and deleted the additonal entries. I've had this happen before and it always sorts itself out eventually. I updated both MyFitnessPal and the FitBit app on my iPhone this evening. Hoping maybe that fixes things.

It's not that difficult. Fitbit, when working properly just takes the total of each meal from MFP. At the moment it is adding each line commulatively, so it adds line 1, then the total of lines 1 & 2, then the total of lines 1,2 & 3, etc. Whilst it's a PITA, all you have to do is go into your food log and remove every entry other than the final total for each meal, which will be the highest number in each case. So, if you added 5 items for one meal, you would have to delete 4 of them and leave the highest one, which would be the total of all 5 items. This may be messed up, if you have removed and re-added items in MFP, in which case I would suggest removing every entry from MFP and from Fitbit, then re-entering in MFP and deleting as described above the new entries in Fitbit. Whilst I hope they get it sorted, this adds less than two minutes to my day, so it's not really a big deal. I should add that not all versions of the app allow you to delete food entries, as far as I can tell. If you are unable to delete the entry in whichever app you are using, you can do so through the web interface, which will automatically update in your app of choice.
