Fitbit Update 10/29/2015: As this issue has now been resolved, I am closing the thread from further discussion.

Thank you to everyone who reported this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved. Happy to know that your food logs are back to normal! Robot Very Happy

Fitbit Update 10/25/2015

Syncing food from MFP to Fitbit is now back to normal. Thank you again for everybody's patience while this problem was being worked out.

Fitbit Update 10/22/2015: MyFitnessPal is aware and has added this to their known issues page. Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are closely working together to get this issue resolved ASAP.

In the meantime, a workaround to try is to manually delete the duplicate entries from your Fitbit Food Log. In order to delete duplicate entries, do the following:

  1. Go to your Fitbit Food Log.
  2. Hover over the duplicate food item, an "X" should appear on the left-hand side.
  3. Click the "X" to delete the entry (illustrated below).

Another option is to unlink your MyFitnessPal account from your Fitbit account and checking your calories on MFP until the multiplying issue is fully resolved!

Thank you for your continued patience as we work alongside MFP to get this issue resolved!

Fitbit Update 10/21/2015: Some users have reported that their MyFitnessPal food log entries are being multiplied on their Fitbit Food Log.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are both aware of the issue. We are currently working on resolving this issue with MFP's help. MyFitnessPal has also posted an update here as well. I will share updates here with everyone when I find out more! Thank you for your patience! Robot Very Happy

Ok...no worries. I appreciate the tip. I'm sure there is a way to edit it on an iPhone.

Also having this issue, hopefully a fix is on the way as the myfitnesspal calorie information showing in my Fitbit account is way overstated

I'm having the same issue with the incorrect calorie counting! It's really annoying!!!

This IS a big deal. I rely on the interface of these apps to make may health/activity/dietary goals achievable. I want to spend my valuable free time achieving these goals, not correcting data entry errors that have been introduced.

Last two days I have been having the same problem of fitbit, doubling the meals and calories from my fitness pal..any suggestion?

You must really busy, if you can't fit the two minutes per day, to correct the entries, into your schedule, but I understand that's an extra 20 calories you could have been burning or two minutes off your recovery sleep.  Just think, if you hadn't made that post or read any of the previous posts, you could have done the adjustments several times over.

Yes I agree this is really frustrating! For me, integration between Fitbit One and MFP has been perfect for two months (since I installed both apps on my mobile phone, and stopped making entries via computer). But for the past three days, each item of food entered in MFP creates a new cumulative entry in Fitbit, even if adding multiple foods at once.
I'm trying to persuade a dear friend to lose weight, as I have, with help of Fitbit and MFP, but difficult to recommend if he must contend with false reports on calorie intake.
Can anyone tell me if this problem afflicts iPhone app also? This is so annoying, I might consider getting another phone, it's that important to me. I am almost at my goal weight and aware that maintenance will need as much care and attention to exercise and calorie intake.

Trust me, I didn't waste time reading a bzillion posts. Letting MFP and FB know client concerns is my goal, and that's how I spent that 30 seconds. Those 2 "extra" minutes? Those are for my family. Lose the snark and join the team!

Swipe the entry to the left on iPhone app. Delete button will appear on the right side.

Sorry, can't help the snark, it's just one of the many facets of my winning personality.  I just think people should take a more positive approach to, what I agree, is not an ideal situation.  I'm sure Fitbit and MFP will have it resolved fairly soon, until then you have a choice of spending that little extra time editing the data, leaving it recording incorrectly, saving some time by not recording your data or spending extra time looking for alternative means of recording it.  There are probably other options I haven't considered, but I just wanted to save you a little time by giving you some options.

MFP bug fix out this morning. I've installed and it appears to have handled the issue.

Glad I am not the only one!  I am going to ignore the bogus fitbit calculations and just continue logging on MFP and hopefully, Fitbit will figure it out!

I still had to delete extra entries after breakfast but it takes about five seconds no nothing major.

I sync my Fitbit account with MyFitnessPal, and I am having the same problem! Fitbit is double or triple counting calories. Only in the last few days though. Still, frustrating when it shows you as being WAY over on your calories even though you know better.
