Fitbit Update 10/29/2015: As this issue has now been resolved, I am closing the thread from further discussion.

Thank you to everyone who reported this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved. Happy to know that your food logs are back to normal! Robot Very Happy

Fitbit Update 10/25/2015

Syncing food from MFP to Fitbit is now back to normal. Thank you again for everybody's patience while this problem was being worked out.

Fitbit Update 10/22/2015: MyFitnessPal is aware and has added this to their known issues page. Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are closely working together to get this issue resolved ASAP.

In the meantime, a workaround to try is to manually delete the duplicate entries from your Fitbit Food Log. In order to delete duplicate entries, do the following:

  1. Go to your Fitbit Food Log.
  2. Hover over the duplicate food item, an "X" should appear on the left-hand side.
  3. Click the "X" to delete the entry (illustrated below).

Another option is to unlink your MyFitnessPal account from your Fitbit account and checking your calories on MFP until the multiplying issue is fully resolved!

Thank you for your continued patience as we work alongside MFP to get this issue resolved!

Fitbit Update 10/21/2015: Some users have reported that their MyFitnessPal food log entries are being multiplied on their Fitbit Food Log.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are both aware of the issue. We are currently working on resolving this issue with MFP's help. MyFitnessPal has also posted an update here as well. I will share updates here with everyone when I find out more! Thank you for your patience! Robot Very Happy

I have also installed the update from this morning but I have just put my lunch data in to test it and I'm afraid it is still duplicating entries, this bug fix has not worked for me 😞

Since latest software upgrade all food items have been included as totals n there own right instead of aggregating them. Anyone else having this problem?

So clearly there is a problem so why isn't fitbit responding to the community with a fix? Surely there are moderators on these posts?

Yes I'm getting the same.

I use MyFitnessPal to log food as it has the barcode scan option and it seems every "summary" is getting logged so:

Food 1 = 50cals - Lunchtime Summary total = 50

Food 2 = 50cals - Lunchtime Summary total becomes = 100

Food 3 = 50cals - Lunchtime Summary total becomes = 150

Lunchtime meal = 150 calories

Fitbit dash is seeing this as 300 calories by adding each summary rather than each individual item of food.

This is exactly my problem. It defeats the object of linking with my fitness pal if it does not reflect the formation input.

I've never had a problem with mfp. Tend to believe it's a fitbit issue
Best Answer
Neither have I. This is the first time I've witnessed an issue between the two apps.

I'm having the same issue. It started on 10/21, random calories being added and not syncing with my fitness pal. I called Fitbit and they said I need to call My Fitness Pal that it's an issue on their end. I told him that MFP is fine, that's not the issue, he disagreed and I hung up. It's definitely an issue with Fitbit and it's annoying.

I have checked online and there are no current updates that fix this
issue. Still having to manually delete 5 to 7 meals, that are not even
duplicate entries.
