Fitbit Update 10/29/2015: As this issue has now been resolved, I am closing the thread from further discussion.

Thank you to everyone who reported this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved. Happy to know that your food logs are back to normal! Robot Very Happy

Fitbit Update 10/25/2015

Syncing food from MFP to Fitbit is now back to normal. Thank you again for everybody's patience while this problem was being worked out.

Fitbit Update 10/22/2015: MyFitnessPal is aware and has added this to their known issues page. Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are closely working together to get this issue resolved ASAP.

In the meantime, a workaround to try is to manually delete the duplicate entries from your Fitbit Food Log. In order to delete duplicate entries, do the following:

  1. Go to your Fitbit Food Log.
  2. Hover over the duplicate food item, an "X" should appear on the left-hand side.
  3. Click the "X" to delete the entry (illustrated below).

Another option is to unlink your MyFitnessPal account from your Fitbit account and checking your calories on MFP until the multiplying issue is fully resolved!

Thank you for your continued patience as we work alongside MFP to get this issue resolved!

Fitbit Update 10/21/2015: Some users have reported that their MyFitnessPal food log entries are being multiplied on their Fitbit Food Log.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are both aware of the issue. We are currently working on resolving this issue with MFP's help. MyFitnessPal has also posted an update here as well. I will share updates here with everyone when I find out more! Thank you for your patience! Robot Very Happy

Click on the arrow for your calorie intake and it will show your actual logged calories from your meals, plus the extras. Click and slide to delete the extras.

I originally bought it because I thought it would be better than carrying my phone on me all the time. Turns out I carry my phone on me at all times anyway, for emergencies, gps mapping and music! LOL My phone can track steps for me, and so can mapmywalk, which syncs to MFP! I liked the idea of the features they offer, but the reality is if they aren't accurate it's not helping! It's not like I'm standing around trying to get an app to do all the work for me (that being said - that is what I paid for) because I'm trying to educate myself for better health and nutrition! So if I have to learn how to do the math myself, that's what I'll do! But I truly would prefer for a company to deliver on its promise and what I pay for, otherwise it's not worth the money, not to mention the two or so hours I've spent trying to figure this out! That's two hours I could have spent at the gym! 😢

I contacted fitbit via e-chat.  The rep stated they were aware and working on a fix.  She made a recommendation that I disallow MFP and close it.  Then allow MFP to access FB.  It did not work for me.  She stated if that did not work to contact MFP.  I contacted MFP and they state they are aware of the issue and working on it.  Today on MFP, my exercise calories are now being deleted from my recommended daily calories.  At this rate, I may only be allowed to eat about 750 calories a day....so not the way...LOLSmiley Frustrated

I am also having problems, Fitbit is logging items and summery, I have to go through and delete all the summeries from each meal.. or I have eaten 2 (some days even 3) times the amount..  I had no problems until I updated, I usually avoid updates but I switched from flex to Charge HR which is a whole other set of issues..!!

Hey everyone! I've moved a lot of posts and threads into this master thread for organizational purposes and to make everyone aware that both MyFitnessPal and Fitbit are aware of the issue where food log entries are being multiplied on your Fitbit Food Logs.

I apologize for the inconvenience and would like to redirect you to the lead-in post of this thread as this is where I have provided a workaround and will also be posting updates as I receive them. Again, sorry the inconvenience and I hope to have everyone back on track soon! Robot Very Happy

Is there any way to mass delete all items in the food log? I would have no problem just putting in my total cals into fitbit, but the problem is I have about 25+ entries to delete as everytime I adjust something in MFP it dulpicates it as another entry...and I adjust gram amounts a lot before my day is done, lol

I am having the same problem as well.  I have an iPhone 6 but I've noticed the issue since an update to the Fitbit app a few days ago.  I have to manually go in and remove all the incorrect entries as it's doubling and tripling my caloric intake!  Not good!

@ErickFitbit I'm sorry for every mod here. You're front warior here and get the sadness of the user. Regarding the issue. I'm a web developer and I observe this issue as front user I recognize that the food entries on Fitbit side are accumulated for every position. For this I see two possible issues in API XML or REST parser and underlying logic. First possible issue is that MFP change there API without notifying the API users. Second possible issue is that Fitbit changed the API data parser or underlying logic with possible misunderstanding of data or just a bug. Most likely is in my point of view the second possible issue. This can be investigated with test data in short term and that's why I don't understand why it takes so much time to solve this issue.

I have the same issue with an iPhone 6 with the latest update.  It seems that the problem began a few days ago when there was a Fitbit update.

Not sure what's going on at the moment. My Fitbit page keeps adding multiple entries from my fitness pal account and saying my calories are far higher than they really are! Anyone else having this problem??

I just got a fitbit zip 2 weeks ago and all was going well.  However, these last 4 days, the food logged in myfitness pal is correct by when it syncs to fitbit it quadruples my calories by number that are not in myfitness pal.  For example, the breakfast is 200 calories in MFP but in fitbit is over 800.  Does anyone know what the issue is?  I did a live chat with FitBit and they had my unlink and link again, but the problem has not gone away.  Can anyone guide me?
