Fitbit Update 10/29/2015: As this issue has now been resolved, I am closing the thread from further discussion.

Thank you to everyone who reported this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved. Happy to know that your food logs are back to normal! Robot Very Happy

Fitbit Update 10/25/2015

Syncing food from MFP to Fitbit is now back to normal. Thank you again for everybody's patience while this problem was being worked out.

Fitbit Update 10/22/2015: MyFitnessPal is aware and has added this to their known issues page. Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are closely working together to get this issue resolved ASAP.

In the meantime, a workaround to try is to manually delete the duplicate entries from your Fitbit Food Log. In order to delete duplicate entries, do the following:

  1. Go to your Fitbit Food Log.
  2. Hover over the duplicate food item, an "X" should appear on the left-hand side.
  3. Click the "X" to delete the entry (illustrated below).

Another option is to unlink your MyFitnessPal account from your Fitbit account and checking your calories on MFP until the multiplying issue is fully resolved!

Thank you for your continued patience as we work alongside MFP to get this issue resolved!

Fitbit Update 10/21/2015: Some users have reported that their MyFitnessPal food log entries are being multiplied on their Fitbit Food Log.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are both aware of the issue. We are currently working on resolving this issue with MFP's help. MyFitnessPal has also posted an update here as well. I will share updates here with everyone when I find out more! Thank you for your patience! Robot Very Happy

Hello, all, this is an issue with the integration of MFP and Fitbit and appears to be MFP sending multiple logs to Fitbit.  MFP have posted it as a known issue on their website.  Engineers on both sides are working on a fix, so hopefully it will be sorted out soon.  You can get more information from this thread: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Third-Party-Integrations/MyFitnessPal-entries-are-being-multiplied-o...

Yes... Knocking wood! I just logged my breakfast in MFP and it synced accurately to Fitbit!

On iPhone, slide the entry to the left and an option to delete appears.
God bless you,

This is happening to me too! Frustrating to see I'm so over when I know I'm not. It isn't hard to delete the extra entries, but it is a bother. I hope it gets fixed soon!

**To delete, just go into Log/Food and look at the meal summaries. Check in with your totals for each category on MFP, and then delete the extras. Just hover over an entry and a little "x" should appear, which will delete it.

When entering my Food consumption for the Day using a linked Third Party App such as "myfitnesspal", the Fitbit.com Desktop Dashboard (for the number of Calories shown) is sometimes inaccurate under the "Calories In Vs Out" Tile which then reflects the "Food Plan" Tile.  For example, On Thursday October 22, 2015 I've estimated 1,694 Calories for the Day using "myfitnesspal" however, when viewing the Fitbit Desktop Dashboard, it indicates that I have consumed 26,555 Calories for the Day which has the "Food Plan Tile" saying that I am over my Calorie intake which is not True.  Basically, I've noticed this in the past and just did not mention it thinking it was a one time occurrence.  What I did as a Fix was omitted the automatic multiple entries of Food that occurred under the "Calories In Vs Out" Tile in the Fitbit Web Dashboard.  I attempted to do this Fix again now but it seems as though I am not able to because whenever I hover my Mouse over the Tile, it will not allow any edits. Maybe because the Day has already past because I notice that I still can do edits for Today?  I am however able to go into the Log and delete the multiple entries when under the "Logged Food" Section.  I see that there are Three Breakfast Summaries, Six Lunch Summaries, and 30 Dinner Summaries when there should only be 'one' Listed for each on October 22, 2015 including the 23rd of October.  I am not sure as to why the automatic multiple entries of Food happens when I don't deliberately place these multiple entries when it should just mirror what's on "myfitnesspal" like it has before.  Has this already been noticed and if so, is it currently being worked on?  Any Help on this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

I've had that problem the last few days too.  What it is doing is taking the individual items - for me at breakfast, my oatmeal, my fruit, and my milk and enters them each individually - then it adds my total for the meal as a separate  item, which doubles my totals.  I've been going in and deleting the individual items to just keep the total.

I log my calories on My Fitness Pal which syncs to my Fitbit account. The last few days the calorie count on the Fitbit dashboard are way off. For instance yesterday I logged 1192 calories on MFP; Fitbit shows 4098! How to fix?

Hey everyone! I've moved a lot of posts and threads into this master thread for organizational purposes and to make everyone aware that both MyFitnessPal and Fitbit are aware of the issue where food log entries are being multiplied on your Fitbit Food Logs.

I apologize for the inconvenience and would like to redirect you to the lead-in post of this thread as this is where I have provided a workaround and will also be posting updates as I receive them. Again, sorry the inconvenience and I hope to have everyone back on track soon! Robot Very Happy

Is anyone else having this problem? At first the fit bit was doubling my calories. So reinstalled both apps and now they are not syncing at all. Fitness pal wants my information for the Fitbit, including birthday, which I am not comfortable giving any information out. Help😳

This food log is from the Dashboard on the website, not on the iPhone. Took me a few minutes to figure that out. You can Aldo delete the duplicates in the iPhone app. The problem seems fixed though. I'm no longer getting duplicate entries.

So after MFP mentions the problem is on their side is when Fitbit gets involved?  Sorry but this actually makes you look worse.  This thread went on for several days without any interaction from Fitbit staff.  So glad for you that the issue is on MFP's side, since you did not respond or offer any assistance beforehand.

Glad that problem has been rectified. However my Fitbit food log looks nothing like the one shown all I have on dashboard is figures for summaries. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Hi everybody,

Syncing food from MFP to Fitbit should be back to normal. Thanks again for everybody's patience while a resolution was being worked out.

@Hillend04 The screenshot for the lead in post is from the food log page on Fitbit.com, not the Fitbit App. You can use either the site or the Fitbit App to log food, both have the same functionality.
