Most of my food entries coming over from MFP are being doubled. And even stranger, the numbers are not exact. For instance, my breakfast was 145 today and I had one entry showing on Fitbit for 145 and another showing for 140

@crmiles14 @AndrewFitbit
That's exactly what happens to me. Multiple entries for the same meal when I edit meals.

@crmiles14 @edu I'm not able to reproduce this. I've edited my entries multiple times, and it updates correctly on Fitbit's side.
So my next questions are:
1. What exactly are you editing? (food item, what field you're changing)
2. What does it look like on MFP's side? (screenshot if possible)
It's also worth mentioning that if you have multiple apps linked together that are also linked to Fitbit, this can cause redundancy.

1. I am editing both ways. I changing the quantity of a single food item and I am changing the food item all togher. Adding and removing single lines of food that make up the meal.
2. It updates normal on MFP side. Here is a screenshot.
I have no other apps linked to FitBit, just MFP.

I only have Fitbit and Aria linked to my MFP account:
Here you can see the duplicated meal entries for today:
Here's the MFP screen:
Breakfast is duplicated with increasing amounts of calories, as you can see. I logged 3 items, and a couple of hours later logged the last one.
Hope this is helpful!

@crmiles14 Okay, I see what's happening now. Duplicates seem to show up sometimes when you "Add Meal". It logs a bunch of food items all at once in MFP, but then these food items are not always cleanly sent over to Fitbit.
For example, I created a meal with the food items shown in your screenshot. When I quickly added that meal under "Lunch", I watched my Fitbit food log as it updated. It synced over a few of the items and saved that as a summary, then it sent over another item (adding it to the previous items) and saved that as a separate summary, finally it sent over the last item which did the same thing (added it then saved as a separate summary). Here's what I ended up with:
So since the items are technically grouped as a "Meal", MFP might be sending individual items within the meal, and then also sending the entire meal itself.
Has anyone contacted MFP with these details to see what they think? It could potentially be an issue with how they're sending meals to Fitbit.

Yes, I think the meals are sending over or being pulled in multiple times, instead of syncing to what is current. I have writen to MFP as well, but everything is looking good on their end, so they can't do anything. It is just the FitBit side that looks/syncs wrong. MFP is updating correctly.

My screen shots are the same but in the fitbit summary there is sometimes an exra line - sometimes a exact copy, sometimes a random number

@crmiles14 I've reached out directly to MyFitnessPal for more information.
@Alona It's not a fix, it's just my explanation of the issue.

Yes it's a known problem. it's been happening for weeks and weeks! I just this minute was in fitbit deleting phantom calories. I check it all throughout the day now to make sure it's all correct.
Weirdly, yesterday I must have edited my diary in mfp 10 times (i couldnt make up my mind lol), and fitbit kept up perfectly. Whereas today, no edits and fitbit had added extra calories. You'd think it would have been the opposite.
Just check your fitbit page regularly through the day so you can quickly delete the wrong calorie additions.

Hi there, thanks, how do u delete the calories from Fitbit??
I do it on my pc. Hover over the calories tab, where it says under, over, in the zone, and click 'see more'. Scroll down to your 'food plan' and hover your mouse over the calories you want to delete, a little red cross appears on the left, click on this to remove the incorrect calories.
You may also be able to do this from the phone app, but I've never tried.

Quick update on this:
I haven't been able to find a reliable way to reproduce the duplicate summaries other than logging an insane amount of meals all at once.Almost seems random when it duplicates small meal summaries. I've been in contact with MyFitnessPal about this, so if anyone can consistently find a way to make duplicates for smaller summaries, that would be awesome. 🙂
Here's the result from my latest test incase anyone is curious (70 food items, ~6,000 calories logged in MFP at once):
