Fitbit Update 10/29/2015: As this issue has now been resolved, I am closing the thread from further discussion.

Thank you to everyone who reported this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved. Happy to know that your food logs are back to normal! Robot Very Happy

Fitbit Update 10/25/2015

Syncing food from MFP to Fitbit is now back to normal. Thank you again for everybody's patience while this problem was being worked out.

Fitbit Update 10/22/2015: MyFitnessPal is aware and has added this to their known issues page. Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are closely working together to get this issue resolved ASAP.

In the meantime, a workaround to try is to manually delete the duplicate entries from your Fitbit Food Log. In order to delete duplicate entries, do the following:

  1. Go to your Fitbit Food Log.
  2. Hover over the duplicate food item, an "X" should appear on the left-hand side.
  3. Click the "X" to delete the entry (illustrated below).

Another option is to unlink your MyFitnessPal account from your Fitbit account and checking your calories on MFP until the multiplying issue is fully resolved!

Thank you for your continued patience as we work alongside MFP to get this issue resolved!

Fitbit Update 10/21/2015: Some users have reported that their MyFitnessPal food log entries are being multiplied on their Fitbit Food Log.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are both aware of the issue. We are currently working on resolving this issue with MFP's help. MyFitnessPal has also posted an update here as well. I will share updates here with everyone when I find out more! Thank you for your patience! Robot Very Happy

It's not just the calories, the sleep mode is messed up too.  Anyone else notice this?

My two cents: I don't usually check my calories in Fitbit, but after this, I checked the last two days (Weds/Thurs) and noticed I had about 16,000 calories a day. Based on what I saw, what seems to be happening is this: Every time you add something or make and edit in MFP, it sends that information to Fitbit. Fitbit, for whatever reason, is adding those calories every time and then not deleting them to only have the current information.

I had to delete about 10 entries per meal.

My guess is this is an issue on the Fitbit end.

I am using my fitbit in conjunction with MFP. I enter my food on MFP as recommended. Since yesterday the fitbit dashboard adds multiple random summary entries, multiplying my intake by 5 or 6 times what I actually consumed.

This is very frustrating. Please resolve and keep me updated. I see, this was an issue last year on a thread, but could not find the resolve for it.

Hi, for the past few days when I enter my daily food log on my fitnesspal then sync my fitbit, it is double and triple counting food items I have eaten. For example, yesterday I ate 1698 calories, but my Fitbit says 5142. The same happened on Wednesday. It seems as though it is adding the total calories for each meal, then extra per each item. Yesterday's dinner consisted of three items, but I have calories added for 11 items in my Fitbit.

I am only logging through myfitnesspal and not both.

For the past three days Fitbit app is adding the same calories each time it synchs so, for example, daily total is 6000 cals vs 1500 because it counted each meal four times. I tried quitting app, updating app, etc. Fitbit one is working ok. My fitness pal is synching to Fitbit ok to get the steps, but Fitbit app is going a little crazy synching to MFP multiplying # of cals consumed. Anyone have suggestions as to how to fix and how to purge errors for the last three days?

I hace had the same issue for the past three days as well. I onlu post in My Fitness Pal, yet it will have several summaries for my food eaten. Onlu one of them is correct, the others seem to be random amounts. I have just been deleting them from my Fitbit data, but it is becoming annoying.

Mine is adding 3 entries for each one I add  to My Fitness Pal. Each one is a different amount.

I go in & delete the extra but would like to find a way that I don't have to do that.

Frustrating

Me too! Started being wrong on Wednesday 10/21.  I was able to delete the incorrectly added meals on my computer.  Could not on phone or tablet
