Fitbit Update 10/29/2015: As this issue has now been resolved, I am closing the thread from further discussion.
Thank you to everyone who reported this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved. Happy to know that your food logs are back to normal!
Fitbit Update 10/25/2015
Syncing food from MFP to Fitbit is now back to normal. Thank you again for everybody's patience while this problem was being worked out.
Fitbit Update 10/22/2015: MyFitnessPal is aware and has added this to their known issues page. Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are closely working together to get this issue resolved ASAP.
In the meantime, a workaround to try is to manually delete the duplicate entries from your Fitbit Food Log. In order to delete duplicate entries, do the following:
Another option is to unlink your MyFitnessPal account from your Fitbit account and checking your calories on MFP until the multiplying issue is fully resolved!
Thank you for your continued patience as we work alongside MFP to get this issue resolved!
Fitbit Update 10/21/2015: Some users have reported that their MyFitnessPal food log entries are being multiplied on their Fitbit Food Log.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are both aware of the issue. We are currently working on resolving this issue with MFP's help. MyFitnessPal has also posted an update here as well. I will share updates here with everyone when I find out more! Thank you for your patience!

Is there any update on this? I've had this issue for weeks now. Some days it works fine and others I'll have 6 or so of the same meal with slightly different counts (due to changing them of course). I've forced the app to quit and disconnected and reconnected and it's made no difference.

@eatriskier Not yet, our special team is still investigating the root cause but so far, we're still working on it. As soon as I get updates, I will let you know. Thanks for trying to force quit the app!

I reported this issue weeks ago as well (along with many others that I've found in the boards) and am getting frustrated at the minimal response and length of time... hoping that this is fixed soon as I'm contemplating fitbits for my parents for Christmas but worry that such issues will be beyond their technology-tolerance to deal with 😞 thus, lack of a fix will lead me elsewhere for Chirstmas ideas. [not to mention I continue to be frustrated that I cannot accurately track my own information]

@CarrieLynn You're absolutely right, you deserve more than frustration and that's exactly what we're looking for with our Fitbit teams. Our specialists are working so hard to determine the root cause of this issue with MFP. Currently, we don't have an estimated time to be fixed but I can assure you it's going to be as quickly as possible. Be on the lookout for updates in this thread. Have a nice day!

Thanks Edgar - knowing that its being worked on helps, hearing it again is also helpful 🙂

I've been having the same issue for the past month and half. It's difficult enough to make the time to prep, measure, weigh and enter all my food on a daily basis- I can't deal with this issue anymore and want to return my fitbit for this reason alone. I count macros so the numbers have to be exact, MFP is a free app and can maintain it's accuracy why can't fitbit sync correctly via phone or lap top? Has there been any solutions for this besides to go in and delete all the doubling meals? Which doesn't seam to work either.
Very frustrated and struggling-Laura

Hello everyone! I was looking around MyFitnessPal's site and found an interesting article that looks into this specific issue. Check it out here. We're working with MyFitnessPal to get this back to normal.
Once we both have information, we'll let both of our users aware via our threads. Thanks a lot for your patience while we work on this issue together.

This happens to me regularly. I just open the two apps (Fitbit and myfitnesspal) in two different computer windows and match the correct ones, deleting the incorrect listings from Fitbit. Not ideal, but usually fixable.

Hello guys! I'm so sorry for the troubles this may cause to you. Please join this discussion to see the latest news about this issue.
Currently MyFitnessPal is working with us in order to get things back to normal. In the meantime, please bear with us. MyFitnessPal support recommends double checking all entries (serving sizes, etc) before entering them into MyFitnessPal to minimize issues with edited food showing improperly on Fitbit. You can still vie the accurate meal calorie totals within the MyFitnessPal Food Diary. Let us know if you have any questions. Have a nice Wednesday!

@Breezy88 I'm sorry for the confusion. I updated my previous response for clarity purposes, take a moment to review it here. You won't need to revoke access anymore, this seems to be an issue between MFP and our website. I strongly recommend you to join this discussion and check the latest update about this issue. Let me know any questions!

I noticed this issue a few times this week as well.
But I've also been having an issue since Tues 12/10, with Fitbit and MFP not synching properly, or at all, unless I disconnect and reconnect. I am using Fitbit and MFP on the PC most of the time, but also use the apps once in awhile - both places have the same issue.
Once I disconnect/reconnect, it will force the sync, but then not sync again at all for the rest of the day, into the next day, until I do the same thing all over again.
There is a thread over on MFP with a ton of people also having the same exact issue.
My fitbit has been working totally fine for month, I've done nothing differently, installed no updates on my phone or PC, it just suddenly stopped working on 12/10. Prior to that, it was synching as it should.
If I look at my MFP excerise diary for 12/10 for example, the last time I got a calorie adjustment from Fitbit (I have negative adjustments enabled), was at 5:30pm, which was when I had disconnected/reconnected the apps. I didn't get another sync after that, which means my calorie goal for that day, and every day since has been incorrect.
Is anybody looking into this issue?????

Did you read any of this thread at all?

Yes I did, and all of the troubleshooting had been done weeks prior to when I was posting.
Now the same exact problem has returned AGAIN.
let me guess, it is being "looked into". Do we ever get an explanation of what is causing this to REPEATEDLY happen and does Fitbit have any intentions of doing something to prevent it from happening AGAIN? Or are we just expected to go through this same exact thing every few months?

@cindy9178 You are correct! We are looking in to this issue with MyFitnessPal and will provide updates as they become available. I can't give you a reason as to why this is happening and I don't want to provide false information. What I can tell you, which I know to be true, is that our engineers and specialists are aware and are working to get this fixed.
Thanks for your patience!
