Fitbit Update 10/29/2015: As this issue has now been resolved, I am closing the thread from further discussion.

Thank you to everyone who reported this issue and for your patience while we worked to get it resolved. Happy to know that your food logs are back to normal! Robot Very Happy

Fitbit Update 10/25/2015

Syncing food from MFP to Fitbit is now back to normal. Thank you again for everybody's patience while this problem was being worked out.

Fitbit Update 10/22/2015: MyFitnessPal is aware and has added this to their known issues page. Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are closely working together to get this issue resolved ASAP.

In the meantime, a workaround to try is to manually delete the duplicate entries from your Fitbit Food Log. In order to delete duplicate entries, do the following:

  1. Go to your Fitbit Food Log.
  2. Hover over the duplicate food item, an "X" should appear on the left-hand side.
  3. Click the "X" to delete the entry (illustrated below).

Another option is to unlink your MyFitnessPal account from your Fitbit account and checking your calories on MFP until the multiplying issue is fully resolved!

Thank you for your continued patience as we work alongside MFP to get this issue resolved!

Fitbit Update 10/21/2015: Some users have reported that their MyFitnessPal food log entries are being multiplied on their Fitbit Food Log.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are both aware of the issue. We are currently working on resolving this issue with MFP's help. MyFitnessPal has also posted an update here as well. I will share updates here with everyone when I find out more! Thank you for your patience! Robot Very Happy

My apologies if this issue has been fixed and I don't see it.

I noticed most of these posts are from November. I just had this problem this week. Is there an update or should I just unlink and relink?
Best Answer

Just wondering if this has been resolved. I have been using my Charge HR for about 3 weeks. This issue has just started happening in the last two days. I will have a meal or two each day that duplicates and therefore my calories are off.

Just chiming in as well. I recently got a Charge HR and I'm using MFP to track food only. The food calories I've tracked in MFP are not showing up properly in the Fitbit app. I tried unlinking and relinking the accounts and force quitting both apps.  I'm using the Fitbit app for Android, Galaxy S5. Thanks!

While it SHOULD work correctly, whether or not the food you enter into MFP syncs correctly to Fitbit doesn't affect anything whatsoever. As long as fitbit is pushing over your calorie adjustment based on how many calories you've burned, there is nothing to worry about.

It looks like Fitbit is pushing the correct calorie burn to MFP, but I prefer Fitbit's interface, and would rather have the food calories display correctly from MFP. I think it's a similar issue from PPs -- If I edit any previously entered meal fron MFP, it's capturing the old value and the new value and sending that over to the fitbit app.

This site is extremely confusing!!!! My dashboard showing all of the foods I logged are way off!!! It's logging calories that I never logged, It's adding up the calories wrong!! For instance, for breakfast today I had a bowl of hot rice cereal for 160 calories and two applegate chicken sausages for 80 which add up to 240 and it says the total is 311, but right above it in the light grey shaded area says breakfast 551 calories and it also added in a evening snack for 495 calories and it doesn't even list what it is nor did I have any evening snack at all. Seriously, this so annoying!!  None of it makes sense to me!!

I've never seen that happen so can't really comment. I suspect that, without access to your account, there is little we can do on here. It maybe that you should drop support an email to see if they can have a look behind the scenes. http://contact.fitbit.com

The same thing happens to me and on top of it when i go to different devices, my total calories consumed is different. The iPad is missing a breakfast item but adding the total correctly but the iphone has a completely different total amount that doesn't add up correctly.

if I add a new item on my iphone to force a refresh, it will be correct but only for a moment.  Then it will switch to some other odd value.  The new item may or may not update on the ipad all together.  This is seriously annoying.

This just started happening to me too. I log my food using My Fitness Pal- in which the calorie counts are correct- but when I look at the log on the Dashboard it has added an extra snack line for an extra 300-400 calories. I have been manually deleting this "ghost" entry, but it is a pain when I just need to see where I stand for the day.

This thread hasn't been updated since April 17. Is there a solution to the problem? I'm still getting random double entries for meals syncing with MFP.

I have been using myfitnesspal for about a month now - with no problems.

However, tonight the data doesn't seem to be synching across properly.

I added some wrong items to dinner, removed them and then added correctly.  It seems to have come across to fitbit incorrectly - and has included everything, including all the deleted items.  I have been in and tried to remove all items and then readd, but this is making the problem worse.

I knew I had had about 500 cals over my target for the day - but with all my attempting to correct things my fitbit dashboard and profile is now showing approx 9,000 over for the day, and getting worse with every correction.  My fitnesspal is showing 538 over.  (wouldn't have even been that bad it I had remembered to put my fitbit on before I went for a long walk this arvo...)

Any ideas how to get this corrected?

Thanks

The best way is to delete the extra entries on the Fitbit site. Leave MyFitnessPal alone since it is correct.

Go to your dashboard and look for the Log selection at the top. Go to Log and the first tab is food.  Scroll down to the section labeled "Logged Food".  Go to the lines you want to delete and hover over the first part of the line.  An X will appear.  Click the X and the unwanted entries will be gone.

I use MFP to track my calories and macros. Usually Fitbit app syncs and I get a nice little chart showing calories in vs calories burned. Today for some reason Fitbit has counted each entry 2 or 3 times and showing me having eaten over 4000 calories! Anyone know why this would have happened?

I've had the exact same problem today. I've never seen it before, so I presume it's a bug of some sort?

I've deleted all the entries and tried to sync it again, nothing. Glad to hear I'm not the only one having problems though!

Having the same problem, there's definitely some sort of bug that's been introduced.

Has anyone had this problem ? I am still in my green zone for calories eaten including my exercise. However, my dashboard is showing over 10,000 calories eaten. And has doubled up on a lot of my entries from My Futness Pal. What's happened ? Can I change it ?

I use MyFitnesspal to long food intake. This morning my breakfast was synced 6-7 times showing 4191 calories for one meal. Can I edit the entries in the FitBit app? If not how can I correct?
