Fitbit Update: 6/26

Hello everyone!

We're aware of the syncing issues with MyFitnessPal. Your MFP data may not be syncing over to the Fitbit app at this time or delayed. MyFitnessPal is aware of the problem and working to resolve it. You can read more on their website here: Extended Sync, Server, and Fitbit Issues

I have also not been able to sync Fitbit with MFP since Thursday (6/25) morning. Thanks in advance for the help!

Best Answer

Since the app was developed by MyFitnessPal, and not Fitbit, you should contact MyFitnessPal directly. Here is a link to their customer service: https://www.myfitnesspal.com/contact-us

I am having the exact same issue! My last successful MFP sync was June 23. I've tried all the same fixes you have, with no success.

Best Answer

That is correct @allihazen for updates you want to keep an eye on the link to My Fitness Pal, mentioned above.. They say that they have a problem with syncing to third party sites like Fitbit and garmin.

Best Answer

Thanks, however my issue started a few months ago and only affects the weight from FitBit to MFP.

@Missy613 I've moved your post out of the solved thread and into the current thread on this subject so that you will be updated. MFP is aware of and looking into this issue that is affecting all third party apps they link up with.

The problem is with Myfitnesspal and they say don't unlink/relink, etc as it's backing up the servers and slowing the process. They are still working on it.  Go into help in your app to get further details.

Dare I say this issue now seems to have been resolved after an update!? Both the Fitbit app & the MFP app updated however, so it's hard to pinpoint which one was causing the issue. Everyone else's now running smoothly? 😊

touch wood. Mine worked today to!

Best Answer

Yes.  Mine seems to be working again now.  Information is coming over again from MFP so update seems to have resolved the issue.

Best Answer

With MFP it is MFP that syncs with Fitbit, if there is an issue, please check with MFP.

Also your better to look at the Third party board where the main thread in app sync issues will be.

I'm going to merge this thread into where it belongs.

Yes, myfitnesspal has an issue they are working on. It's been about a week.
Don't unlink/relink and don't bother with uninstall re-install. This just
adds to the delay. Frustrating, but even once it's fixed on their end it
will take a little time for the backlog to clear. Hopefully they finish the
fix soon.

Is the problem supposed to be fixed by now? Mine stopped syncing the evening of 6/25. No data has been shared since. 6/25 is also the day I had to let my Fitbit premium subscription go (broke because of COVID).

Please see the top post in this thread.

There is a link in this post to MFP's update to this issue.

As @wkrahn mentions, do not unlinked and link, this adds to the buffer, adding another record that will be processed when MFP has fixed the issue. The last time a major app had a sync issue it took more than a month to clear the cue.

Instead of trying to get this to work, please monitor the link on MFP that is posted in the top first post

@virg_apple fitbit days that it is not fixed and it affects all third party apps that MFP has linked to.

Even after it is fixed, it may be many weeks before MFP will be cought up.

@PeachyPeachez we know who is responsible to fix this problem that also affects Garmin and many other companies

Mine too and I've been a user for 5 years. This is worst ever - mine hasn't worked since 6/25
