MyFitnessPal overestimating calories

I just got a new charge 3

I’ve been using MFP for a while now. I’ve got it set so it uses my Fitbit to track steps and activity rather than iPhone

However I find the Fitbit is massively overestimating my exercise. It says my calorie burned is 2700 today on the dashboard. My calorie goal is MFP is 2000. My steps are currently 9900 at 9pm in the evening, probably close to my upper limit for the day.
I was very sedentary today, I got up very little at work. But for some reason the Fitbit has put in 500 calories in the exercise section of MFP.
so despite an incredibly sedentary day it’s given me an additional 500 calories to eat in MFP which is definitely incorrect.
Yesterday it did similar, I added a 40min bike workout and got 170 calories in the MFP app (but Fitbit calculated it at 240 calories in their app) but it still gave me an additional 500 calories under exercise. So in total yesterday I had 600+ extra calories I could have eaten when it synced to MFP

I’m not sure if there’s a setting I’m doing wrong but I 100% did not earn extra calories today through exercise so I feel like this is a recipe for potentially losing track of food calories if this continues

Another update

Today I was incredibly lazy. I went to the gym for 30min in the morning as usual and did the exercise bike (200 calories). I potted a plant, I did some groceries. From around 2pm - 7pm I have been on the couch binge watching Netflix

Fitbit has given me 1800 extra exercise calories to ON TOP of my 2000 calories from MFP

What the hell kind of calorie adjustment is that?! I’ve literally not moved for 5h - or very minimal movement.

I’m really really regretting buying this thing. I never had these issues when I had my Apple Watch.
