MyFitnessPal overwriting FitBit Aria 2 weight tracking data.

So I think I've figured out what's happening here, but I'm not sure how to fix it.

I weigh myself every morning on my Aria 2 scale.

  1. Aria 2 syncs to Fitbit app, all is good..
  2. Fitbit app syncs to MFP, all is good.
  3. I upload a progress photo to MFP.
  4. MFP syncs the data BACK to Fitbit
  5. Fitbit app loses my BF% and BMI information.

Is there any way to fix this? I want the data to sync over for the progress pics, but I'm getting really frustrated by losing the BF & BMI data!

@gina_a Welcome to the Community. Thanks for the detailed information shared.

I was checking the information that's going to sync between MyFitnessPal and Fitbit and data that's going to sync from Fitbit to MFP is steps, calories and scale measurements. MFP toFitbit will sync logged food and activities. I believe this is why when you're uploading your progress photo to MFP the BF and BMI are lost.

I would like you to try to not upload the progress photo and check if your BF and BMI don't get lost.

Not uploading a picture results in the BMI and body fat staying in the fitbit app.

is that the only solution though? I like having progress pics in the MFP app for motivation.

@gina_a Thanks for getting back. As mentioned before, I would like you to try to not upload the progress photo to MFP and check if the data gets synced properly. If it syncs properly then it's the picture that's deleting the BMI and BF.
