MyFitnessPal "After Dinner" category syncs to Fitbit's "Anytime" category

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The default MyFitnessPal meal categories are Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks.

When they sync to Fitbit, they map to Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Anytime, as expected.

However, I noticed that Fitbit also has categories for Morning Snack, Afternoon Snack, and After Dinner

MyFitnessPal allows you to add up to 6 categories, so I went ahead and added the other three categories:

Now when I sync, Fitbit actually maps Morning Snack and Afternoon Snack to their corresponding categories, but for some reason, it maps After Dinner to Anytime:

Is there any way to get this fixed?

Welcome to the Community @JTF195! I appreciate the screenshot you provided, very helpful. Just a question, are you still having this inconvenience? If you are, I recommend unlink and relink MyFitnessPal from Fitbit by doing the following:

1. Sign into your Fitbit dashboard.
2. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
3. On the left side of your screen click "Applications."
4. Under MyFitnessPal, click "Revoke Access."
5. You can then re-link the two accounts.

After relinking, you can verify that your accounts are syncing by using one of the following data points:

1. On Fitbit you can check for your meal summary and logged activities from MFP.
2. On MyFitnessPal, go to "My Home," then "Check-In." You should see your weight, Fitbit Steps, and Fitbit Sleep Minutes.

Hope this helps, let me know the outcome! Smiley Very Happy

I have disconnected and reconnected Fitbit and MyFitnessPal several times and the issue persists.

This is what happens:
These are my MyFitnessPal categories (randomized, just for testing purposes)

And this is how they sync to Fitbit:

It properly syncs Breakfast, Morning Snack, Lunch, Afternoon Snack, Dinner, and Anytime, regardless of their order on MyFitnessPal.

I'm guessing it does this by comparing the names of the categories.

However, the After Dinner category ALWAYS syncs to Anytime, even if there is already an Anytime category on MyFitnessPal
