Not getting Whatsapp notifications

Hi.

I just got a fitbit surge for my new years.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the features but something weird has happened to the notifications feature.

I am currently using the Fitbit Android app on its latest version with my OnePlus Two. The surge version is 16.34.5.14.

I can only get call notifications but not text notifications of any kind whatsoever. Earlier I could get call and whatsapp notifications but now no matter what I have tried I just can't seem to get text notifications working again.

I have tried every single faq and troubleshooter but nothing seems to be working. I have been on this since the last few hours.

I'm on my last straw. Please help.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Vinayak! It's great to have you here allow me to help, in order to get your notifications working please try the following:

  1. Restart your tracker. For more information, see How do I restart my tracker?
  2. Turn off notifications. Complete these steps:
    1. On the Fitbit app dashboard, tap your tracker, and then on the device screen, tap your tracker.
    2. Tap Allow notifications access and turn off access to the Fitbit Notification Service.
  3. Reboot your mobile device.
  4. In the Fitbit app, tap Allow notifications access and allow access to the Fitbit Notification Service, and then turn on call or text notifications

If your notifications still not working after doing this you can also take a look at this article you might find it helpful.

Hope it helps, let me know how it goes!

I don't seem to get the allow notifications access button except for the very first time I installed the app.

Hey there, @Vinayak! To do this follow these instructions:  Tap the 3 lines at the upper left corner>devices>Surge>Call and text notifications>Text notifications>WhatsApp.

Remember that you can only get either text or WhatsApp notifications not both at the same time.
