Our fitbits don't measure stairs accurately? Don't know why, I know they don't count going down but not all going up the same stairs in our house get counted.

Not sure which FB we have so checked the last option!<?<?

Registering flights of stairs can be a bit inconsistent. The fitbit models that can register stairs do so via a built in altimeter that detects changes in air pressure. If it detects a change in air pressure that suggests a rise in elevation of 10 feet it should record it as one flight of stairs.

If your flight is around 10 feet high then it may sometimes detect it, sometimes it may not.

You also need to complete the ascent is one go - if you pause during the flight the altimeter can reset and you lose that flight.

As it uses air pressure to detect changes in elevation it can also be sensitive to things like wind and weather fronts (not that wind should affect you indoors!)

The good news is that even if you miss out on a few floors, your steps and calories are still counted.
