We are aware of an issue preventing Fitbit users from linking with their Facebook accounts, and producing the following error. This may also prevent users from searching for friends via Facebook if their accounts are already linked.

Our team is currently investigating this issue, and we're working to return this functionality to normal behavior. If you see this error, please note that there is nothing wrong with your tracker itself. We'll post another update here as soon as we have news regarding a resolution.

Today is the 2nd April 2016, yet the posts, all of them on here. Which is a great number all complaining about fb/fbit... I brought the surge yesterday, and I'm gutted that I cannot add anyone. Why hasn't this been fixed? It's simple code.. I have tried on my Nexus 7 running 4.4.4...a Nokia 650...my LG G4... On my Win7 laptop... Your dashboard... Please fix this, also my Surge is now on my right wrist as I have a sleeve tattoo on my left, would have been helpful to know this before hand. Please sort it out before I lose all faith in your products and go back to a Polar device. Thanks in advance x

Just bought mine today, the Charge. Same issue, my firbit account will not connect to my facebook account.  Knew I should have gotten the UP3!  smh.

Fitbit Support just answered my tweet from Friday. Looks like they are aware of the problem and currently working on it. Let's just be patient.

Just opened my new Charge HR today. Got it connected to MFP just fine - but have had no luck connecting it to Facebook via the app on my phone, or on my computer. I keep getting the "Unable to connect to Facebook" error message.

Help! how can I get this to work? I just bought a Fitbit Zip and can't get this to work! I've tried everything!

Facebook asks me for permission to connect with fitbit and I say yes. When I procede to try to connect my actual fitbit account to facebook so I can compete with friends, it wont let me! And when I check my linked accounts on my fitbit settings page, facebook is not listed as one of them.

I hope someone knows the anwer to this!

Me also .... New alta and can't link to fb to find friends. Sent email and got back useless response advising to click on the find friends tab . Fitbit support need to publicly acknowledge the issue and rectify ASAP with a software update

I already listed the errors I get in my original comment. I'm tired of all the run arounds. I told you that it is not working and it hasn't worked for a year and with all the other posts that have the same issue and you still try to make is a user issue. This is a company problem and the company needs to fix it with an update. We as users spend so much money on a product and only for it to not work as advertised and we as users are being blamed instead of the company just owning up to it and fixing it.

I followed you link, but I'm still not able to connect my fitbit with facebook. It says, "Unable to connect fitbit with facebook at this time." Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I can't either! On my laptop, it says unable to link your facebook and fitbit at this time, try again later. On my phone app, it says an account is already linked.

The main reason to connect to Fitbit, is so that you will be informed when a Facebook friend also connects their Fitbit.

This connection not working, does not stop a person from inviting anyone to be friends.

Every Fitbit account has a public profile page. This page has a button to request friends.

So of there is somebody that you want to be friends with, send tthem a link to this profile page. They go to the page and press 'add friend', then you approve.

This link can be sent through email,text message, or even a Facebook PM.

I never said it was a user problem, what I said was while some threads started many months, for almost that long they have been quite. Three days ago the Facebook threads  blew up, this tells me something happened 3 days ago.

Please address this issue. I spent quite a bit of time trying to deide which tracker to buy and here i am with the fitbit that is suppsed to connect me with my friends with fitbits and a big flub which has been around since 2015.....apparently i need to rethink which brand to place my money with.

I am having the same problem too! Mine won't connect to facebook (it says the account is already linked).  I have tried from my android app and on my pc.  Neither is working.   Sad to see so many of us having the same problem!
