We are aware of an issue preventing Fitbit users from linking with their Facebook accounts, and producing the following error. This may also prevent users from searching for friends via Facebook if their accounts are already linked.

Our team is currently investigating this issue, and we're working to return this functionality to normal behavior. If you see this error, please note that there is nothing wrong with your tracker itself. We'll post another update here as soon as we have news regarding a resolution.

When I try to connect to Facebook to add friends I get a pop- up that says cannot create Facebook account. I just bought my Fitbit Alta today and have been able to connect this whole time. I've turned my phone on and off and reset my Facebook as well. Nothing seems to be working.

I keep getting this message whenever I try to link my fitbit flex to my facebook account so I can add friends. I don't know what the problem is. Please Help! This has been going on for the last 2 days.

My fit bit charge WILL NOT connect to Facebook no matter what I do. It will give me the option to do so and when I click "ok" to authorize Facebook permission for it it says that it is unable to make a profile? It won't connect to anything. Any ideas?

Same issue here! Just got my charge HR and was all excited to join my friends challenges etc. to no avail. getting this error message "Unable to link your Facebook and Fitbit accounts together. Please try again later."

Sure hope that this gets resolved, the main reason I bought a fitbit was for the social challenges and competitions.

Just got my Fitbit HR today- can't connect to Facebook or add friends - they do not show up on my friends list.  What a bummer!

I will check back in 5 working days, as that should be enought time for Fitbit to provide an update?

I have just started having this issue also , tried revoking access to fb and reinstalling the app etc but nothing .... Seems an issue which has started to happen increasingly more given the dates people are posting 😞
Had my fitbit 2 weeks and I know of one friend who got one yesterday I want to connect too but can't

I've had my Charge HR for 2 weeks now and this issue has started only recently for me too, please fix this FitBit - you should be issuing news and updates about this not generic 'hope we've helped' statements.

As the amount of people calling in this bug is rapidly growing, I'd like to see some sort of comment from the fitbit team. Not replying at all feels terrible! And I'm not getting answers on my open ticket with customer support anymore either.

Hi, @RJordan , there is currently a bug affecting all Fitbits -- not just the Alta -- not being able to connect to Facebook.  The Fitbit engineers are aware and are working on a fix.

It's pretty obvious that the solution marked 'solved' at the top of this thread isn't working. Surpriseing fitbit hasn't been able to resolve such a wide spread issue yet and there is no communication by admins on such a huge issue.

Same here! I just got mine today for my birthday and I cannot connect to Facebook using my computer or my phone. When I do it on my phone it says: "Can't link accounts: One of these accounts is already linked." When I try to connect with my computer it says: "Unable to link your Facebook and Fitbit accounts together. Please try again later." I don't have any other accounts. This is the first fitbit I have owned. What the heck?
