4/7 Update: This should now be resolved, and Facebook integration should now be working normally. If you are still having trouble, please consult this help article for tips on connecting with your Facebook friends. Thanks everyone for your patience while we worked to correct this issue!

4/6 Update: We have a fix in place which will resolve this issue, and it is being prepared to roll out into production. I'll post again once that happens, but it shouldn't be long!

We are aware of an issue preventing Fitbit users from linking with their Facebook accounts, and producing the following error. This may also prevent users from searching for friends via Facebook if their accounts are already linked.

Our team is currently investigating this issue, and we're working to return this functionality to normal behavior. If you see this error, please note that there is nothing wrong with your tracker itself. We'll post another update here as soon as we have news regarding a resolution.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience!

Something I have noticed is that on Facebook, it is showing the app is connected, however when I look to see if Facebook is connected in the settings, it doesn't show that it's even connected to facebook. It seems like it's registering on Facebook, but not here on the dasboard. Hope that helps.

"Unable to link your Facebook and Fitbit accounts together. Please try again later."

This notification appears when I try to link my Facebook and Fitbit accounts. Can anyone help? I am a new user.

Thank you!

It's an issue with the Fitbit app itself because when I spoke to support they said that people have also called. Right now the app is not allowing me to add people by contact # or facebook. Just contact customer support so then they work on your case! 🙂

"Temporary" since at least June for most users??? That's nine months with no response or action to resolve by Fitbit, FYI. The long term inaction and lack of communication does not look good for the company.

Same issue. I'd suggest leaving a review on the site or where you purchased it for other potential buyers so they can chose this product fully knowing the issues, which appear to have lasted for quiet some time. I've seen this same exact issue posted in a thread from January. Doesn't seem to be a priority for Fitbit. Super unfortunate.

So I've searched the fourm and have tried to connect with my facebook and fitbit online and on the app. It keeps saying either the operation couldn't be completed. (com.facebook.sdk.login error 304.) or you can't connect to facebook at this time, etc. How can I fix this?

There is a system wide issue with connections to Facebook at the moment. They are aware of it and are looking into it.

Hi, @Hmiller94 , Fitbit is aware of this issue and working on a fix.  I have moved your post to the main thread discussing this issue to keep the conversation together and so you can get updates from the moderators.

Hi, @smf47 and @aspen1978 , this is not an issue that Customer Support can help with, other than to confirm that it is a known issue and the engineers are working on it.  It has nothing to do with your Alta itself.

Smiley Frustrated   Its taking quite a while to fix this issue.  I would really like to start using the challenge features with everyone at work and was thinking about buying my aunt one to help her track her progress.  But a big part of that was being able to encourage her with challenges............   I was patient last week but am approaching sour.   The likelyhood of another purchase is diminishing.
