RESOLVED: Unable to link with Facebook - 3/31/16

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

4/7 Update: This should now be resolved, and Facebook integration should now be working normally. If you are still having trouble, please consult this help article for tips on connecting with your Facebook friends. Thanks everyone for your patience while we worked to correct this issue!

4/6 Update: We have a fix in place which will resolve this issue, and it is being prepared to roll out into production. I'll post again once that happens, but it shouldn't be long!

We are aware of an issue preventing Fitbit users from linking with their Facebook accounts, and producing the following error. This may also prevent users from searching for friends via Facebook if their accounts are already linked.

Our team is currently investigating this issue, and we're working to return this functionality to normal behavior. If you see this error, please note that there is nothing wrong with your tracker itself. We'll post another update here as soon as we have news regarding a resolution.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience!

not sure about the number of threads that you've been following but it seems to date back to 2014!

My new Fitbit is unable to connect with Facebook also. It's giving me the message "unable to create FB account". In settings Fitbit is allowed to use FB. Not sure what's going on, but I hope it's resolved soon. Any suggestions out there, besides those I've tried from earlier in the post??

Hi, @RJordan , there is currently a bug affecting all Fitbits -- not just the Alta -- not being able to connect to Facebook.  The Fitbit engineers are aware and are working on a fix.

Welcome to the Community!

This explains why my friends connection isn't working.  Hope they fix it soon!

I just got the charge HR and am trying to link my FB account. It seems to search and then it says in a small grey window that it "can't link accounts: one of these accounts is already linked" not sure how to remedy this situation as l have already logged out/in and reinstalled the app.... Suggestions?

I'm having the exact same problem, it looks like there is a bug in the system.  I couldn't find friends via facebook, "revoked" permission for Facebook on app, it will now not let me "re-Add" it.  It would seem there has been an issue oustanding on the Charge HR since Oct 2015, so it would appear to be a software bug.  Could a Fitbit employee please respond?

I just got a blaze and every time I try to connect it to add friends via facebook I get an error message that says my accounts can't be linked now and try later.  I never had this issue with my flex.

I know they are having an issue with conecting to facebook but do we know if we can add friends through email? I have been trying to send a friend a request for 2 days and neither of us can do it.

Yes, I've added through email after giving up on their awful Facebook connect feature.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

I've seen a ton of questions/comments regarding Charge HR not connecting to Facebook but I've yet to see any solutions. I've tried from my PC, IPhone and IPad with no luck connecting. Is there a solution yet??
