RunKeeper/Google Fit

Seeing as FitBit seems to be unwilling to integrate Google Fit I have a question for those that are using RunKeeper. I know that you can join your Fitbit account with your RunKeeper account. I also know that RunKeeper recently added Google Fit integration. My thought was to use RunKeeper as a man-in-the-middle.  I was wondering if you link FitBit to RunKeeper and then RunKeeper to Google Fit, would that inderectly link FitBit and Google Fit? What data gets syncs across them? Anyone try this?

im currently trying this with Runtastic as the middle man. will report back.

doesnt work. Runkeeper nor Runtastic track just steps. only activities
