Sleep as Android doesn't work well with the Charge 3, is there any chance it will get better?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I was hoping to integrate my charge 3 with Sleep as Android and get both sets of sleep data and all the other stuff Sleep as Android offers automatically when my fitbit detects I'm sleeping but Sleep can't even connect to my Charge 3.

Does anyone know if there are plans to improve things for the Charge 3, or is it some kind of limitation where they're not able to get the data from this Fitbit the way they usually are with other smart watches?

Are you asking about Sleep for Android syncing with your Fitbit Account?

Fitbit has an open API which allows any third party app to interface with your Fitbit account.

Does Sleep For Android have any such plans, this is a question to ask Sleep For Android. Fitbit has everything setup and Sleep for Android could have connected to Fitbit years ago. The decision is up to them to decide.

@Rich_Laue, for some reason there is no SDK available for Charge 3 (and I guess Charge 4 too), which is one of the key reasons why my next band will probably be from another brand. I guess this is what is in Sleep for Android's way. It seems to work with other models for which the SDK is available.

Their is no SDK for those trackers because the user is not able to write apps for these models.

Third party apps like Map My Run access your Fitbit account through fitbits API, they do not access directly access the tracker.

Sleep for android does not work with Fitbit, to fix this, they will need to write the code to access Fitbit API.

I heard that there was field testing for Project Goat which might have impacted upon this?

I read somewhere that smart waking (or smart waking through third party apps) was being field tested as part of Project Goat. That this feature would be available for Fitbit Inspire™, Inspire HR™, Ace 2™, and Fitbit Charge 3™ devices. As I wasn't part of this group I don't know if this was about integration with the wonderful Sleep as Android or whether Fitbit are attempting to improve their own sleep tracking offering. As the project was scheduled to run April to May this year I assume something already happened? Care to comment Rich? Are you familiar with Project Goat?
