Sync with Life Fitness elliptical trainer doesn't recognise km distance?

I have managed to sync my Inspire HR fitbit with my LifeFitness elliptical trainer.

Should I wear my fitbit during a workout, or does this confuse things when syncing?
Today I completed a workout (wearing my fitbit) and the app downloaded the time, calories and bpm exactly from the LifeFitness console, but steps/ distance seem way off. According to the cross trainer I'd done 4.5k distance, but my fitbit is saying I've only done 3.3km in the whole of the day so far!

What am I missing? If you wear your fitbit on a machine does it double count steps and then recalculate/ overcompensate?

Hi @DiS99 are you saying that your Fitbit account shows 2 records of this elliptical ride.

As for steps, you are not walking or running, distance therefore is not added to the daily totals.

While lifecycle knows how far you virtually road, based on a spinning wheel. Your tracker, without the ability to use the GPS, will have no clue as to the virtual imaginary distance..

So does it double? Do you have two records of this ride?
