They have hired a project manager to produce a Windows Phone app following all the Nokia Lumias getting BT 4.0 LE support added in recent updates.

Have you gotten the lumnia black update yet? I just had an update tonight but it was not for lumnia black. Also any idea if the app has plans to have the call notifications too?

I got the Black update the night it was released, unlocked UK 1020.

No idea what features will be in the app, it was reported they were hiring a WP product manager to do the app on quite a few tech blogs.

The have been rumors of a Wp fitbit app for a year now, including that fb hired a project manager.  I think you're just seeing old rumors.

Like I said, old rumor.  It started before the time the fitbit tile came out in the MS store - the one that isn't even supported these days....  And no word on WP from fitbit.

For Andriod, a year before Androids were syncing, fibit was talking about them syncing.  Until you hear something from FB, I wouldn't count on a WP app...

I just got off the phone with Fitbit and the person I spoke to directed me to check fitbits career site. This is what I found..  http://www.fitbit.com/jobs/search#jobs/oVucYfwj   sounds awfully promising to me.

Did they happen to mention how long that has been on their website?  Probably a year.....

Given the fact that WP8 hasnt had BT4 LE support for all that long it's highly unlikely its been there for more than a few months.

Like I said, this is an old rumor.  And it's Andriod that has only had BLE fro a few months - as of Andriod 4.3.  I can find noting in web searches about BLE on WP.  And the position if for product management (which tends to be more of a marketing position in many companies- but I see nothing in the engineering openings - I do see an opening for Linux folks though...

Like I said, I've watched for a year, and I also saw what was going on with Andriod over that time.  I may be wrong, but you got to admit, the WP has a very small market share in the smart phone area - heck, they just passed Blackberry a few months back, and Blackberry is almost out of business....

Update: Ok, I did find some stuff on BLE for WP/Win8 that was back to 2012...

BT$ LE came to all Lumias in the Black update. The Windows Phone SDK doesnt have public apis yet but Microsoft have given access to private apis to companies to get BT4 LE devices ready for when 8.1 launches in a few months.

Adidas micoach already works with BT4 LE on Windows Phone.
