Third party app messed up steps

Hi all,

In a bit of a bind here. Spent the day walking but left my Charge 2 charging, so tried to sync up the steps registered on my iPhone to the Fitbit app using a third party app. I now know the error of my ways, as since reading these forums I've seen that it wasn't approved, and as a result its mucked up my step count. Every time I do more steps with my Fitbit on, since this sync, I see them tally up, and within a couple of minutes it returns to the sync number, and I can't solve it. The weird thing is the daily calories are still accumulating, as is the stair climb, it's just the steps that keep resetting.  This is what I've tried doing to fix it:

Delete third party apps

Restart FitBit app multiple times

Restart Charge 2 multiple times

Unlink and relink Bluetooth

Restart iPhone

Remove app permissions from FitBit account.

I've only had my Fitbit a couple of weeks, and I'm all out of options. This is definitely a mistake I won't be making again, but I really want to get it sorted as I have been doing so well with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hello @TheCTS forst thing i woild like to ask is what is this mysterious third party app, since you say that this was the start of the problem?

Whatever happened is allready on your account and sored in the cloud. Everything you say you did will only affect the future and wont change the past.

Ok the first thing we want to do is go to your activities page and see if this activity os listed. If so you should be able to remove it.

Next time when the tracker has been left home, you can add the steps manually right from the app or on the web at fitbit.com/activities

Or you can setup the app to use your iphone to do the step counting directly.
