Trying to sync to my insurance wellness app (HealthKit)

My insurance wellness app takes data directly from HeathKit. How do I get my FitBit data into iOS HealthKit. It still doesn't appear to sync directly to HealthKit. Do I still need to enter it manually? ...or can I attach the wellness app directly to FitBit.  How would I do that?

Hi @WBillM, It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community! 🙂  I was reviewing the list of compatible apps and I was not able to find the integration with HealthKit, however I found this thread with a workarround to sync with Healthkit with Fitbit.

I followed your suggested link but the work around that you suggested is a 3rd party app that asks for my email and password. That would give them total access to my account info. I'm kind of uncomfortable with that. Wouldn't it be easier, and safer, just to have the FitBit app link directly to HealthKit on the phone? What safer option are there?

Hello @WBillM, hope you are having  a great day!  I was reviewing in the Community for other ways to link HealthKit with Fitbit and found the suggestion to link with HealtKit has already been made on the Feature Request board you can vote for the idea since it is under consideration.

I followed that link that you suggested. I think you make a mistake. It's almost 2 years old! Its about running on an old operating system. I'm sure that a simple issue like mine has been resolved by now. I'll wait for you to get back to me with the corrected link.

Hello @WBillM thanks for your reply.  Yes it was suggested almost two years ago, and currenlty HeatlKit it is not integrated with Fitbit, since it is not showing on the list of compatible Apps. As mentioned on the Feature Suggestion "Integrate with iOS 8 Health App" on the last update 10/8: "We do not currently have plans to integrate with HealthKit".
