Using Fitbit and MyFitnessPal

When I track an exercise it shows on my dashboard, but does not transfer over to my fitness pal.  Is there a way to do this or do I have to do so manually?  And should I do so manually? or is it simply counting the steps in my fitness pal?  I don't want to add it manually, if all that transfers is the steps, and have it show I have more calories to eat than I actually do, or I will never lose weight.  Thank you for any help you can give me.

@dmw1298 Welcome to the Community. Thanks for the details mentioned.

I'll be happy to clarify your inquiry. The information that's going to sync between Fitbit and MyFitnesspal is the following:

  • Steps
  • Calories
  • Scale measurements

From MyFitnessPal to Fitbit:

  • Logged food
  • Activities

When tracking exercises on Fitbit, you could track them using SmartTrack or the exercise app on your watch/tracker. Learn more about it by checking this article: How do I track my activity with my Fitbit device?

If you decide to manually log an exercise in MyFitnessPal is better if you don't wear your tracker/watch because it will override the data tracked by your Fitbit.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.
