Versa 2 workouts not syncing to Strava

I have just bought at a Versa 2, and even though it says I am linked to Strava, when I have done an exercise, it doesn’t record it to Strava. When I have recorded it from my phone, it shows in my watch then disappeared.  I keep attaching the device to Strata but when I close Strava is disappears.  So questions as follow please;

1) when I record an exercise from my watch, should it sync to Strava

2) do I need to have Strava open before I start recording an exercise

any help is appreciated

When your Strava account is connected to your Fitbit account, then gps recorded exercises will be sent to Strava. 

The Strava app does not need to be open. 

You mention Strava on the Versa 2, or you asking about this Strava app on the watch?
