Will food added to Fitbit go to MyFitnessPal?

I connected the two apps today and went into MyFitnessPal and added a food.  Sure enough, it carried over to FitBit's app!  Now, if I'm on FitBit and add a food, will it carry over to MyFitnessPal?

If not, why?  And how do you all do it?  Do you track your food in MyFitnessPal and everything else in Fitbit?  I just love MyFitnessPal's feature where it says, "If every day were like today, you'd weigh 205 pounds in 5 weeks" but I don't have that type of forecasting with Fitbit.

Thanks!

@ChrisFNaples Welcome to the Fitbit Community! MyFitnessPal will transfer food logged and activities to the Fitbit app. Fitbit will transfer steps, calories and Aria measurements to MFP, but not the food logged. The reason, I believe, is because you can log food on MFP too. Remember, the food databases from both apps are different. Yes, I will recommend to use both apps to complement one another with the awesome features they both offer.

Hope this helps. See you around. Smiley Very Happy

@ChrisFNaples A warm welcome to the Community! This is what's going to sync between Fitbit and MyFitnessPal, check the following:

What syncs?
Fitbit > Steps > MFP
Fitbit > Calories > MFP
Fitbit > Aria measurements > MFP
MFP > Logged food > Fitbit
MFP > Activities > Fitbit

The best advice will be to let your Fitbit tracker track all your data and log your food and activities in MFP. So, you can enjoy the best of the apps.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks so much to both of you for your answers.  My only question is that if I log activities in MFP and Fitbit is sending data to MyFitnessPal, if I go for a walk for a mile, won't it double-count it?  In other words, I tell MyFitnessPal that I did a walking activity but then FitBit is sending the steps too, right?  That's the only spot where I'm still a little confused.

Thanks again!

Thanks @SilviaFitbit and @SantiRSmiley Happy

@ChrisFNaples The only potential discrepancy would be with calories, but MFP should be adjusting calories based on the information they receive from Fitbit.

I'd have to agree with @SilviaFitbit, let Fitbit do all the work in terms of activities and let MFP handle the food. If you prefer logging activities through MFP, my advice would be to only log it in one place. You shouldn't be logging an activity in both apps.
