fitbit flex/aria/heart rate monitor

Ok , I have a qurstion, after recently buying a mio alpha and polar loop. I like the heart rate tracking with the activity tracker. But love my flex and want to add the aria for a full body measurements/tracking. However I want to add calories from heart rate/workouts. So is there any app/site that data can be exported to that will combine fitbits step/distance with data from a heart rate monitor. Digifit comes the closest but can't combine a workout with my heart rate. Unless the premium version does it I don't know. Any ideas? (Negatives on the polar loop, no ability to use WiFi scales and doesn't give distance traveled)

The simple method is to edit your activities in your Fitbit dashboard and enter the number of calories burned according to your Mio. I personally input calories burned from my Polar HRM in my Runkeeper activities, which sync to Fitbit via MFP. There are a few ways to accomplish what I believe you're trying to do.

I use digifit and it on the fitbit end it only overwrites the calories burned and sometimes the distance. It doesn't associate heart rate with workouts, but fitbit doesn't really have a space for this. I wish it at least allowed the option to sync or manually enter average heart rate for a workout. I use to noe it in my notes section but it is hard to find it later for reference. I look at the digifit site for detailed workout heart rate data, and they pull some summary data from fitbit as well (calories burned in the different activity levels, total steps, calories, distance, elevation (from floors), how many calories were Digifit workout vs fitbit counted (totals), etc. Some people use an app called syncmetrics to sync heart rate from some other apps (not digifit, but Runkeeper and Garmin Connect are options) but I found I didn't really like how it synced the heart rate i.e. it would overwrite my resting and normal heart rate with workout data.

I too use Digifit and Mio Alpha; the combination with Fitbit means much more accurate calorie burn values for workouts. The Digifit website gives a very good set of data visuals incorporating Fitbit values too. Provides really good insentive on diet and exercise. This combination has helped me lose 22lbs in 42 days.

The support people over at Digifit seem to think that their app should be updating HRM info on Fitbit but it's not showing up on mine either. Would like to see HRM data in dash as well... Digitfit info should be showing up according to Digifit... From Digifit support: >Ah, thank you for the information. > >Did heart rate from Digifit ever show up for you on Fitbit? We have not made changes to information that is >sent to Fitbit. Have you tried contacting their support team to see why this information is not displaying? >They can be reached at contact.fitbit.com.

@jstu, I am not sure why Digifit believes they are syncing the actual heart rate data. I use Digifit and fitbit together. My Digifit workouts are automatically logged here replacing Fitbit's calorie burn. But the only things logged are the activity category (walking, running, cardio, cycling, spinning, other), the start time and duration, the Digifit calorie burn, and the distance (if applicable). There is not a place in teh activity log to log heart rate data i.e. the average heart rate, maximum, etc. There is an obscure place on the Fitbit site to log heart rate (not associated with a particular workout), but Digifit does not log there (I just checked ot see if they changed this). To see, click on "log", then the tab "heart rate" and there are various options to manually log various types of heart rates for the day: resting, normal, exertive, etc. Some apps do log here--my Withings blood pressure app does through syncmetrics.com, so it is possible.

It's possible there's a misconception floating around about the Digifit logging to HR data to Fitbit. I'm just looking for a way to compare HRM data over time for similar workouts but I cant seem to find an easy way to do it. Thumbing through individual workouts to visually compare graphs it one way to do it I suppose but I know I'd be much happier if I could see performance over time and trend lines all in one place. I'll be very sad if i have to do it myself in a spreadsheet.

Digifit does not pass heart rate data to Fitbit; and doesn't claim to. The claim relates to the accuracy of the calorie burn for exercise based upon the heart rate data it monitors; there is no doubt that HR based burn values should be more accurate (though there may be an argument on their unpublished algorithms). Digifit calorie burn values trump Fitbit.

It certainly appears that Digifit is claiming that HRM data is passed to Fitbit in their press release on their

website... see http://tinyurl.com/os66j9e

"...or pull their heart rate monitoring information into their Fitbit dashboard." would certainly seem to imply

more than just calorie data.

It would be nice if it there was more to it than that.
