Hello --

So I got a fitbit charge over the holidays and went on a bike ride this morning. I logged the exercise in myfitnesspal and it got logged into fibit too (via the apps sync).

But the fitbit recorded a whole bunch of steps during that ride so now I have an very high step count.

Should the sync take away those steps?  Or should I also enable the exercise tracking on my fitbit when I go for a ride and not log the exercise in myfitnesspal (though I think the sync directions say not too)? Or should I just not tell my wife that I'm outpacing her in steps because I went for a bike ride?

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Yes, you will still get the step credit from whatever the tracker picked up. 3rd party syncs don't over-ride that. I get the same thing using Endomondo for my bike rides. You might wish to leave the tracker home when you do your rides.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Problem is that most times I go for a ride I go to work where I want to track my walking.  Disabling tracking doesn't seem very easy either as it involves a usb cable.
