@tonyvandersteen Thanks for your reply! I made some research regarding why is it showing the authorized email address like that and it is for security purposes.

Strava is using an email alias so your personal email isn't displayed on the account.

If you are connected and it is syncing, it should be fine and working properly. Have you tried syncing since you got it linked and authorized?

@tonyvandersteen Welcome to the Fitbit family! Please revoke the access from Strava once again, and re connect both apps. Make sure to link Fitbit with your new Strava account.

Once you have linked both apps, do the following:

  • Open the Fitbit App.
  • Tap the Ionic tracker's tile.
  • Tap "Apps".
  • Under "My Apps", tap the gear icon within Strava App. You will now see "Authorization State: unauthorized" and no account linked.
  • Under "Strava Login" you will see "Authorize". Tap it.
  • You will be prompted to log in to your Strava Account at Strava's webpage.
  • You will see a screen with an "Authorize" option. Tap it.
  • Wait a moment, this may take some minutes, but you should see "Authorization State: Authorized" and your Strava email address under "account". You will also see your email under "Strava Login".

This means that both apps are now connected to the Ionic itself. From this moment, all the GPS activities you track with the Ionic or Strava will show when you tap the Strava App within the Fitbit Ionic.

Please consider:

  • In order for the activities to show on the Ionic, they need to be GPS. Make sure to have GPS enabled. Strava app should show a message saying that GPS is enabled (Location Services need to be activated).
  • If you are tracking the run with the Ionic exercise app, make sure to wait until GPS is actually connected to the tracker. It will say "Connected" in green letters.
  • Once you have synced your GPS activities, you may still not see the activities on the Strava app within Ionic. This happens because it takes a while (within 2 to 7 mins approx.) for the activities to be sent to the Ionic. You will then be able to tap the activities to see the details of it within the Ionic.
  • Only the last 10 GPS activities will show on Ionic.
  • Check the Strava section on this article for more details.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

Until :"You will see a screen with an "Authorize" option. Tap it." No problem but then: "Wait a moment, this may take some minutes, but you should see "Authorization State: Authorized" and your Strava email address under "account". You will also see your email under "Strava Login"." This does not work: if i tap authorize: a pop-up appears with the words " do you open this page with Fitbit?" and you have two options: "annulation" (if you tap that option: a wite screen appears and nothing happens) and "open" (if you tap this option: "authorization state: authorized"  but account: anonymous+74595dcd-cbbac0@strava.com and not my account)

@tonyvandersteen Thanks for your reply! Is it still showing the alias email under "Authorization State: Authorized"?

How are you tracking your exercises? Please consider the following:

  • In order for the activities to show on the Ionic, they need to be GPS. Make sure to have GPS enabled. Strava app should show a message saying that GPS is enabled (Location Services need to be activated).
  • If you are tracking the run with the Ionic exercise app, make sure to wait until GPS is actually connected to the tracker. It will say "Connected" in green letters.
  • Once you have synced your GPS activities, you may still not see the activities on the Strava app within Ionic. This happens because it takes a while for the activities to be sent to the Ionic. You will then be able to tap the activities to see the details of it within the Ionic.

Are you tracking the activities like that?

If still nothing, you can try deleting the authorization and starting the connection process from scratch. That should help for sure!

I have to re-authorise the app every time I want it to sync (even though I've clicked 'keep me logged in', and then app says that it's authorised).  It simply won't sync the activities to the ionic unless I do that.  Makes the app a little pointless to be honest.

I have done what you say but I can’t see my activity on Strava, it comes up blank? I only see it on the Fitbit app but I want my runs to be in my strava app too? Is this possible

It's not possible. It's never worked. I purchased a Garmin, as much more
reliable and better for training.
