Got a Versa 3 as a Christmas gift, everything seems to be working fine, except for the breathing rate.
I have been wearing continuously for 12 day, and have yet to get a breathing rate record.
From checking the forum, this seems to be a relatively common issue.
Any advice?

Hi @TrickyDee - first let’s make sure you’re looking in the right place. Open the Fitbit app on your phone and tap the Today tab, then Health Metrics. The first item should be Breathing Rate. If this does not help, please let us know exactly where in the process it fails and if you are getting any error messages.

@SunsetRunner
Yes I'm looking in the right place.
The empty graph just says 'No recent data, wear your fitbit to bed'

Thanks for the info, @TrickyDee - Based on the message you’re getting, I have to ask, are you getting any sleep data? Breathing is calculated when you are sleeping. (See below.) How restful is your sleep? Your sleep periods need to be longer than 3 hours in order for your Versa 3 to determine breathing rate. Please let us know, then we can try to troubleshoot further.

I am getting sleep data, and SPO2 and skin temp.
It is possible that I am not getting 3 hours continuous, but if tiny periods of wakefulness stop it working, then it's pretty useless.

Tried all the suggested options for what seems like quite a common problem.
Set sensitivity to sensitive, wiped the records, of which there are non on the dashboard, restarted the watch, force closed the app, cleared the cache etc.
Still nothing, as some of the other functions also require 3 hours of sleep, so it is not that.
It seems that there is just an issue with the software, hopefully a firmware or app update will fix it in the future.
Generaly happ with the Versa 3, but bought Fitbit to replace Chinese tracker, as I though that software support etc would be better, seems about the same to be honest.
Still you live and learn.

It sounds like you’ve done all the trouble shooting you can. It’s best that you contact Fitbit Support now.

Spoke to the support, it would appear that it is a known problem, and they are looking into it.
So hopefully it will be fixed in a future firmware or app update.

Well I did a factory reset this morning, weirdly the app now shows a breathing rate for Saturday night.
This is the first and only one it has ever shown, so watch this space to see if it starts to show them from now on.

Now 45 days since I got my Versa 3, still only 2 breathing rates recorded.
Still no comment from FitBit as to when we can expect a fix for what they describe as 'A known problem'.
Very poor from someone I went with because I though the software support would be better than the cheaper Chinese brands.

Hi there, @TrickyDee. @SunsetRunner Thanks for your great help!
@TrickyDee Thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot your Versa 3, and getting in touch with our Support team. As you were told, this issue has been reported to our team and they're currently working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible. I understand how important this data is for you and I apologize for this experience with the Health Metrics tile. While we don't have a time frame, your feedback is truly appreciated and will be passed along so we can keep our team informed of this situation.
In the meantime, make sure to keep the Fitbit app updated and your watch syncing correctly as you've done so far, that way the rest of your information can stay updated on your account.
See you around.

Still nothing, any update on a fix.
Device is not performing as advertised, and saying it is a known issue, is frankly, not good enough.
Update please.

Maybe it will get fixed with the Versa 4, though this I doubt as people seem to have been complaining about this issue for 18 months or more.

Oh my god..........it recorded a reading last night. 3rd one in over 3 months.
Have they fixed it when they fixed the skin temp, or am I grasping at straws.

Seems I was grasping at straws, back to not taking any readings.
Ah well.......

Now into the 6th month with this advertised function of the tracker/watch still not working.
Everything else works fine, and it uses the same sensors, so what the hell is going on.
