When I use the excerise feature it does not count any active zone minutes. It also starts tracking my heart rate then stops mid activity. Photo shows the heart rate tracker whilst I’m doing cardio work. Running machine said my heart rate was 160.

When I use the smart track feature there is no problem it calculates the active zone minutes and my heart rate

I have tried resetting my device but nothing happens.

Didn’t have this with my versa 3

This occasionally (within a single workout timeline) happens on my Sense 2. In my workouts, I see many missing HR data points. I'm not quite sure how Fitbit counts missing HR readings and how that does contribute to AZM (it's either ignored or interpolated). This will, however, affect your AZM in some way. Look at the following chart:

It looks like the higher HR, the more data points are missing (and in general the whole HR is pretty much wrong compared to the H10 chest strap). The holes in the purple line mean the inability to read HR (like in your photo, '--'). Versa 4 has the same HR sensor as my Sense 2 so I expect similar issues will occur. I haven't found any workaround for it (because probably there's none). In this case, the AZM should be 51 but it's been granted only 26. Every single workout I checked has missing data points so it's not something uncommon for this sensor. I expect that it may also be quite an individual thing as for me, this was happening on all the Fitbit devices I owned (Charge 2, and Ionic were the worst in that matter, sometimes whole minutes missing in the readings). You chose Fitbit, you need to live with that.

Mine did this today. Did not record/track my active zone minutes and I worked out for 91mins. I know I hit my heart rate throughout and mid workout it just stopped tracking heart rate keeping it at 80bpm when I was totally out of breath and so I knew this couldn't be accurate. And then when I finished my workout I synced the app and it marked that I worked out, minutes and calories burned but did not track AZM or my BPM ..
I restarted my watch, synced my app multiple times, restarted my phone - nothing is working.
I logged on to the dashboard and you CAN see my AZM for today but why isn't it showing on my watch OR the app ???

So I contacted support and they helped me troubleshoot the issue. Although it still doesn't show AZM and BPM on this 91min workout session, it did record these things as usual on a "test exercise" session I did jogging on the spot and running all over my house for 10 mins LOL ..
I had to uninstall the app and reinstall it, restart my phone, all that jazz ..
Still don't know why that 91min AZM shows my dashboard in this website but for some reason it just doesn't sync to the app..

My mum came to me with this exact issue today, her AZM were on her watch but won’t sync to her app and we have no idea why! We’ve got the AZM to start working again but aren’t sure how or why it’s suddenly started working again

Considering my self a very active person because my work activity is very physical i am experiencing the same issue with the Versa 4. From active zones of 90, 80 , 77, 67.. now is 4 or 5 at the most...definitely something is with the devices, unfortunately the merge with Google instead of making the device and application better the moved was for worst . Very unpleasant how faulty the device has become.
