I have noticed that when you lock your phone, the GPS doesn’t connect well through the app when on a walk. Does it even know how fix it?

Versa 4 uses Dynamic GPS. If your Versa 4 is near enough to your phone to have a Bluetooth connection, it switches to use your phones GPS to have more precise GPS tracking and preserve it's battery life. If Versa 4 has no connection to your phone, it will use it's built-in GPS.
So, in conclusion, you could try switching Bluetooth on your phone off while it is locked when wearing it during exercise to have your Versa 4 tracking GPS.
