App vs watch - showing different step amount

I just synced the app and the app is showing a different step count than my Versa 4 watch is that common?

Sometimes you can see a different step count between your app and your Fitbit device if you use your phone to track your steps. You can check if it's connected by following the steps below. If you see that it's connected, please disconnect it from your app.

  • From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap Devices (in the upper left corner).
  • Check if you have both your Versa 4 and Phone as options under the Devices page.
  • If you see Phone, tap the Phone option and disconnect it from your app

The Phone option interferes with the synchronization between the app and your Fitbit device, which could be the reason why you see different amounts.
