Hi there, @RudyJGonzales. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums.

Regarding your inquiry, please note that most Fitbit devices are water-resistant to 50 meters. They're designed to be swimproof and stand up to even the sweatiest of workouts. However, I have seen that sea water (salt water) tends to damage many electronic devices, so it's always recommended that you follow the steps listed in the Wear & Care guide, and to dry the watch before wearing it.

Keep in mind that these devices are more designed to be worn at a pool, river or lake, so I wouldn't recommend using salt water for a prolonged period of time.

Water resistance may diminish over time and can be negatively impacted by any of the following:

  • Dropping the device.
  • Exposing the device to soaps, shampoos, conditioners, perfume, insect repellent, lotions, or sunscreen.
  • Exposing the device to high-velocity water (for example, during water sports).

If your device gets wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. If your device comes into contact with any liquid other than fresh
water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser (like Cetaphil) and dry it with a lint free-cloth.

Hope this helps and answers your inquiry.

Hi @RudyJGonzales - in addition to what @MarreFitbit says, feel free to swim with it while under warranty because it can be replaced but nearing the end of warranty it may not be worth the risk as the seals deteriorate over time, and any water ingression might not have an immediate effect..
