I've been trying to use my Versa 4 to monitor my walks. Sometimes it shuts off during my walks, either because I have to stop, or because I'm walking too slowly, or maybe because my wrist hits the button (unlikely but possible).
I looked at the settings for walking, and there are 2 options: walk detect and auto-stop.
I also looked at the settings for running, and there are 3 options: run detect, auto-stop, AND auto-pause.
I can't understand why the settings for walking don't include an option for auto-pause (and, why not?).
I also can't understand why "auto-pause" isn't mentioned (as in not even once) in the Versa 4 manual, but that's a different issue.
I've seen answers indicating that, if I start the walk function manually, I can then select auto-pause (evidently during the activity? can't find it to try this out) but I don't want to have to deal with that on a daily basis. I'm already busy staying focused on the walk, my balance, cracks in the sidewalk, etc (rehab from a severe illness), so I'm looking for a permanent fix for this.
As a workaround for the watch not offering an auto-pause option for walking (and again, why not?), can someone who walks as slowly as me (think very slowly) use the run function instead of the walk function so I can take advantage of its auto-pause feature?
Thanks in advance for any help, and sorry if this sounds like a rant, but I don't see the sense in offering a walk function that's not as fully functional as the run function is.

Hi there, @SunsetRunner. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 4 is turning off during your walks. I understand how important it is to you to track your walks accurately now that you're recovering from a severe illness. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products into consideration.
Even though I truly appreciate you took the time to come here and express your feelings towards your experience with the Versa 4 and the auto pause feature. Please note at this time the auto pause is only available for the run exercise. We rely on feedback like yours to help us develop products and features that we know our community wants to see. I suggest you post your comments under the "product feedback" board (click here) so other members of the Community can comment and vote for it.
To learn more about how Fitbit decides which suggestions get developed, visit our FAQs.
As for your inquiry, you can try using "run" instead of "walk" and take advantage of this feature. Keep in mind that if your Fitbit device doesn’t detect activity for 10 consecutive minutes, a message appears on your screen asking if you want to end the exercise. For more information, see How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?
Hope that helps.
