Can't add cities to the Weather app on my Versa 4

ANSWERED

I type in a city name, and the wheel spins forever, never goes any further than that. I have the proper permissions selected, location services turned on. I have tried clearing the Fitbit app cache, logging out and closing/restarting the Fitbit app, shutting down and restarting the Versa 4, deleting and reinstalling the Fitbit app....nothing has helped. Is there a fix? Vety aggravating; this worked with my previous Versa 4. Since that one broke and I replaced it (1.5 years ago?) I have not been able to make it work.

Hi there, @JimZ8859. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that you cannot add cities to the weather app on your Versa 4. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

As a first approach, I'd like to make sure that you've restarted your Versa 4 as described here. Then, please try again adding the additional locations.

If the issue persists, please check the following settings:

  • Location services must be turned on for the Fitbit app. For instructions, see How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?
  • The Fitbit app must remain running in the background on your phone.

Thanks, I'll try those restart instructions when I get home tonight and see if I get anywhere with this

The app is set to run in the background, and the location services must be set up correctly, because the weather at current location always works.

I’ve tried those steps to no avail. This feature used to work - but now I’m stuck with only local weather. Putting in any city just s pins and spins.

I tried Maria's suggestions above but never got it to work. Then a couple weeks ago I saw a message that new firmware was available for my Versa 4. I downloaded and installed the update, and miracle of miracles, I was able to once again add cities to the weather app! And there was much rejoicing! Hallelujah !!

Hmm. That sounds good… but as far as I can see I’m up to date on firmware…

I have a Fitbit sense 2 and since I changed to a Google account nothing is working including adding cities. I like to have 2 cities added as well as current location but I can’t add them anymore, it just searches and searches and doesn’t do anything. I wish I could change back to my Fitbit account.

I should add that I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, unpairing my tracker and pairing again. Restarting my Fitbit device and going through all settings to make sure permissions and locations are all on.
