Why can I not add apps to the Fitbit versa 4? It’s so annoying because there ares one incredibly necessary apps that I could install on my old Fitbit versa but i cant now.

Go to the "Features" section and vote for the request to have third-party support added back to the Versa 4 (and Sense 2). The more votes the better.

I am VERY disappointed in my new Versa 4. I assumed all the features would work. But that is not it.

The data "burned" from my Lifesum account is not received in my fitbit account.

And

The data "weight" from my Fitdays account is not received in my fitbit account.

How could I have known that it doesn't support third-party apps?

In addition, I now notice that this versa 4 cannot link to Spotify either. Pity. The Versa 3 can. I didn't look closely at that when I bought it, but I certainly didn't expect this downgrading with the more expensive Versa 4.

Please allow this or I will send it back.

Once again, go to the "features suggestion" section and vote for the feature to be added. The moderators cannot do that for you,.

Allow 3rd party apps

An other feature that disappeared.

As suggested you can vote for it, but keep in mind  that there is no SDK available for independent developers, also wifi is deactivated on the V4 which is essential for developers to test apps. It appears that the Fitbit SDK hasn’t even been updated to support the V4 and S2).

If these features are important to you, the V3 is a better and cheaper alternative.

Loved my Versa 2 - only replaced it because the battery would no longer last the day. Had been considering a Versa 3 but waited for the Versa 4 to get the Graphite Aluminum edging that was similar to the Carbon Aluminum edging on the Versa 2, Versa 3 didn't offer these edging options. Never in my wildest dreams did I think to confirm I would be able to continue to:
1. Download third-party apps that I used daily on my Versa 2 such as (a) Starbucks, (2) Flashlight, (3) Agenda, (4) Number, (5) Find Phone -- which Fitbit says is on the Versa 4 but nowhere I can find. No third party apps on Versa 4.

2. Select which phone apps I wanted to receive notifications from on my watch, such as (1) Medisafe, (2) Messages, (3) Zoom, along with the Versa 2 standards: (a) calls, (b) text messages (which I selected WhatsApp, because the option was available to choose), and (c) emails, along with the ability to customize quick replies directly from my watch. These features no longer exist on Versa 4.

3. Connect my watch to my earbuds and play music. There is NO MUSIC in any capacity on the Versa 4. No iTunes download, no Spotify, on Dreezer.

I agree with other community posters who mentioned they believe this is an intentional move on the part of Google. It seems they acquired Fitbit to gain ownership of the select Intellectual Property for their own new Pixel line and purchase customer lists/order histories, while constraining investment in the future of Fitbit. I also agree with several prior posters who said it's false advertising to refer to the Versa 4 as a smartwatch; it IS a FITNESS TRACKER.

And wait, there's more! I'm also disappointed that the Versa 4 does not allow the owner to remove preloaded apps either. Huh? Nope, I don't want Alexa on my watch, nor Fitbit Pay, but surprise! Nope, it's going to clutter up your watch whether you like it or not.

Overall, incredibly disappointed and will be returned.

I’m a Fitbit fanboy. Have had their products since 2007 when they started. Never had an issue so far. Knock on wood…

Got a Versa 4 and it worked fine, but I decided that since Fitbit has not committed as yet to 3rd party apps and music which are important to me, I had to return it within my 45 day window. If they add those features I’ll buy it again, but otherwise my 3 year old Versa 2 will do for now.

I do not follow the madding crowd in believing that Fitbit is intentionally messing up watches or watch features. I chalk it up to an inept Product Management department that like most do not listen to customers. No company can stay in business if they do silly things like that.

The fact they don’t support it anymore is bogus. Makes me want to turn the watch back In. Downgrade from

versa 2 smh 🤦🏽‍:female_sign:

I just received my versa 4 yesterday and I am sooooo disappointed that the newest technology can't do what my Versa 2 did especially Spotify, I rely on those controls while I work so I'm not touching my phone all the time and so does my husband. I don't even want this versa now

I ended up returning mine immediately and I'm waiting for the Versa 3 to go on sale. My friend has it and says it does everything the versa 2 did.

Where do you do this?  On the app on the phone or on the website?

The product name "Versa 4" is laughable. The  name should have changed if one of the defining features is getting dropped from the latest version in a product line.

I don't want to vote for 3rd party app support to be added in the future, I want app development by hundreds of companies to have begun 12 months ago.

Unfortunately, I trusted the parent company Google, the brand name Fitbit, and the product version 4.

How can I get a refund?
