Can't connect new Versa 4 to the Fitbit app for the 1st time

I just bought a new Versa 4 & downloaded the Fitbit app, but the app can't find the watch.  My phone's Bluetooth is on & works with everything else.  The watch has 99% battery on it & phone is 99% also.  I've been constantly pressing the left button on the watch to keep the screen on, but no luck.  I've tried it 10 times now & I get nothing.  The app keeps asking if Versa 4 needs charging.  I'm wearing the Versa 4, and I've tried holding the phone in the same hand & setting the phone down a foot from it.

Welcome to the forums @MarvDude.

Thank you for taking the time to share all these details about Versa 4. Sorry to know the difficulty.

Please, pair your Versa 4 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

  • Unpair your Versa 4 from your phone's Bluetooth (or make sure it's no longer showing up there) and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Versa 4.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 4.
  • Once your Versa 4 is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

If you have an android phone, the phone should detect the tracker, and offer to set it up.

Have you tried clearing the phones fitbit cache?
