Can't control music on my Versa 4

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi, I am not sure if anyone else is frustrated, but I have been unable to find the music icon on my versa 4 and there appears to be no way to control music that is streaming on my iPhone from the watch. In the past you could pause music playing on your phone or skip to the next song from your watch and this is a big feature for me.

I also see Spotify is no longer supported which I use for my music.

I upgraded my versa 3 not realizing they had made these changes and now I am really disappointed. I hope they can update this or I’m going to have to switch to another watch. I don’t want to have to look at my phone while I am working out to control music that is playing on my phone.

Hi, they weren’t able to help when I called in to support. They advised I should submit the suggestion on this message board for fitbit to provide a fix/upgrade if other users are having the same issue and said they (Fitbit support) would also make this suggestion. I posted this after the call to support. We tested a few things but the new versa 4 does not have the music control on the watch yet to control music. I haven’t received any actual solution. @Dopovo @MarreFitbit

I really do hope there is a fix coming, as this is something I used regularly on my watch. It’s really not functional or convenient during sports and other activities to have to pull out your phone to control the music.

Hi, I posted this at the recommendation of Fitbit support after I called and they were unable to find a resolution. I haven’t received a fix yet. Thanks.

Hopefully they can bring the Spotify app to the Versa 4. I just upgraded from a Versa 2 and was also disappointed to not have the music option.

I have found a way to control the music on my phone with certain apps but it's not ideal.   If the app that you are using has notifications that notify on playback or pause or something else, there is a possibility that you can control the music.   For example, if you use the Samsung Music app, here's what to do.   Open the Fitbit app and then click on your pic at the top left.  Click the Versa 4 link and then Notifications.   Scroll down the list to Samsung Music and select it for notifications.   Then, go into your phone settings for Notifications and select the Samsung Music app.   Click to see the settings and click Allow Notifications.   Then, click Notification Categories and make sure Playback is turned on.   Now, every time music is played from that app, you get a notification that shows the song playing and also lets you choose Pause, Previous, Next, Close or Open.   It's kind of noisy because you get a notification for every play.   However, it does work.   I heard it works for Spotify too.   Very strange how I can control music on my phone with notifications but not with an actual phone OS.

Fitbit.   Please add this feature.   If I can control music from notifications, I should be able to control music with my watches OS.

Currently the Versa 4 is unable to support music storage or music control.

Some users have found a workaround by using notification responses with the active music player.

There is already a feedback thread
