I've had my Versa 4 since mid November 22 and have a Galaxy S22 and it sends me message (text) notifications to my phone but it does not open the actually open the text message to be read when I select "Open" it only sends a link back to my phone that if I look at my phone the text is open to be read. What sense is that? All other apps that I have connected will notify me and then proceed to open the notice to be read on the Versa 4. It allows calls and everything else through but won't allow me to read texts. I use the "Messages" app and all of the permissions seem to be set correctly. Frustrating. I previously had a Charge 2 and only switched because the screen was cracked and I didn't use it for any notifications but I've factory reset, rebooted, shutdown, restarted so many times with no greater success.

The way notification works has not changed over the years.
On your Versa 4 tap the message header. Fitbit says that the 1st 250 charectors of the message are displayed. If this is not enough for you, tap open and fitbit will open the message on the phone.
It sounds like what everyone is describing is the expected action
