Can't open text messages on my Versa 4

I can receive text messages on my versa 4 but when I push the open button it says "link sent" and won't open the actual message. Any ideas what I can do?

If you want to read a text message on your Versa 4 in full length, just tap on it. If tap on "Open" below a message on your Versa 4, your device sends a link to your phone to open the corresponding app on your phone if it's in Bluetooth reach to show you this message in the app on the phone.

Thank you for the reply. I appreciate you taking the time. It won't let me just push the message when it pops up. It only gives me the "open" or "clear" option

@HopePaul So you're not talking about text messages of specific apps like Email or WhatsApp for instance but SMS?

No, I'm just talking about regular sms messages. I can open Facebook messages but not text messages. I've spoken to customer support 4 times now and no one is helping me

No, I haven't at all!!
I've been asking anyone and everyone possible. I've even used the chat
feature to speak to someone online but they keep asking the same generic
questions like 'what email did you use to set up the fitbit?' 'Connect to
bluetooth'
But it must be connected to blue tooth because I'm receiving Facebook
messages that I can open those!

I have the same problem here. I have the versa 4 and have this "link sent" icon on my watch when i tap it to respond to a given message. if my phone is close by it opens the message there for me to respond. I'm trying to actually respond to the message from my watch versus on my phone. This is not an issue with facebook message; however, regular messages seems to cause a roadblock and diverts me to the phone to respond there.

Open text message

Click on three dots above first message

Settings

Notifications

Allow notifications (make sure this on)

In-app notification settings, this should be on

i found this area. there's another area advanced did you have to navigate there to click a feature there? It still seems to not fix the issue either. facebook messages work great though the watch though.

5:20pm  ***UPDATE*** I've tried everything suggested in this help chain of replied and nothing has worked?? When I receive a text; no what's app or fb messenger...just the old school way of texting (text ability from like decades ago), I get the options of "Open" or "Clear". When I touch the "open" thing/rectangle it says "link sent". I've checked all of the settings that I could find in the fitbit app, I've made sure that sms toggle switch is "on"?? It's SOOOO frustrating!!! I'm about ready to take it back and get a different version. When I had my fitbit Alta, I never had these issues??

Has anyone figured out what the issue is with this? Having the same problem here and I don't understand why I cannot respond to text messages like I used to with my last versa either..

My wife figured it out...  Apparently you need to make sure in-app notifications are on in your sms message app.  Open up Messages (on Android phone), click on 3 dots on right side>Notifications>In-app notification settings>click on
