Hi - I can't setup Google Wallet on my Versa 4, and I get an error in the Fitbit app as follows: "Something went wrong. Error connecting to Versa 4 Make sure it is close by and turned on".
If it helps, here are more details about my setup:
I just got a new Versa 4, never setup Wallet before on the watch.
I have Google Wallet working on my Android 11 device which syncs with the Versa 4.
I don't have sync issues with my Fitbit Versa 4.
I get the same error when I try to set up device lock on the watch.
My watch, phone and fitbit app are up to date.
Fitbit support wasn't able to diagnose the issue.
Does anyone know why this is happening or have ideas on what I can do to resolve?

Hi @rajmsea - even though the phone is connected to internet see No internet connection
It is possible that a non direct connection causes a problem, possibly Private DNS .
Otherwise logout of the Fitbit App, swipe off the active window, clear the storage cache and force stop it then restart both the watch and phone.
Login to the App and wait for the pair and link prompts and sync then try again.

I reported this problem to Fitbit over a month back. I still have a case open with them (#48106785) with regards to this but I haven't heard anything from their support team since the 22nd of January 😞
Initially I got the runaround from Fitbit support, getting me to reset the watch and then delete and re-install the app etc. They tried to blame the bank but I get the "Something went wrong" error even if there are no cards registered on my Google Wallet, so definitely a Fitbit problem.

Update: It was not a VPN or app cache issue. I tried all the steps listed above but still got the error on my Android 11 device. Thanks for the suggestions, though!
If it helps others with the same issue, I was able to successfully set up Google Wallet on my Versa 4 using an iOS device, which boils down to the Android app or Android 11 OS being the culprit in my case.

Thanks for the tip,I have now setup Google Wallet on my versa 4 using an old iOS phone.
The irony ... the setup has issues on their parent company's latest OS but works fine on their competitors OS 😄

Great, I don't own an apple device so will have to wait for an android app update.

I have a Versa 4. I use Google Wallet. I have a Mastercard that works with Google Wallet.
I setup Google Wallet on the phone, I see my card, I add it. Card not supported/contact bank.
? What's the benefit of Google Wallet over Fitbit Pay, if a Google Wallet supported card doesn't work.

I have the same problem. I can't answer calls on mine either. Fitbit support response is to wait for an app update.

I was hoping you were going to say Android as you have gotten further than me.
I'm on android and can't go any further in the app than tapping Continue on the Google Wallet icon.

Fitbit support have decided to close my case. Never bothered that the issues aren't fixed. Still can't add cards to wallet and still can't answer calls on the device. The service is a joke! I keep checking daily for the new app update that meant to solve all the problems.

I check daily as well, but nothing comes to fix it. I bought my Fitbit versa 4 off eBay for £55 new and manage without Google pay as I have it on my phone, so will grin and bear it. The battery life is 10 days for me as there's bugger all running! No payment, no apps, no point in purchasing a Fitbit 4
Fitbit have just pushed an update on the play store but I guess they didn't get the memo.. Still no fix for the payment issue.

It is worse for me on IOS.
On ( Android ) I can add as many cards that I need to and they are all visible on the Versa 4.
On ( IOS ) I can add more than one card in the Fitbit ( IOS ) app, whatever card I mark as default is the only card that is displayed on the Versa 4 not all the cards I have added so I am sticking with the ( Android ) pairing.
Super inconsistent. I even had difficulty getting an original ( Google Pixel XL ) phone, Google Wallet failed to start, it kept complaining that it needed to update Google Play services and then threw an error. The only way I got it to work was to factory reset the phone and during the setup process it asked if I wanted to add cards to Google Wallet and I said yes and magically the Google Wallet app started working. I don't have any issues on ( Google Pixel 3 XL ) or ( Google Pixel 5 ) with the wallet app.

I have sane issue, card doesn't support and I use Sansung s22. Does anyone know how to fix it?
I have the same problems: can't receive call, and "card couldn't be added" error message.

I have the same problem, support was useless at both fitbit and thier parent company google. My wife and sons cards from the same bank work on a Samsung watch and Google watch, just Google's support of fitbit is seemingly non existent.

I have the same problem with Google Wallet. Fitbit support promised to get back via email, but it has been almost a week...
I also have Samsung watch, but no issue with Google Wallet at all.
