Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Mfins72!
Sad to hear that you're having an issue updating your Versa 4.
To hopefully get things fixed, please first sync your device with your Fitbit app. Then restart your device by keeping it's button pressed for around 10 seconds until you'll see the Fitbit logo on it's display. Next please follow the instructions under 'How do I update Fitbit devices?' provided here:
How do I update my Fitbit device?
I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Have you restarted, the phone and the Versa 4? Better to shut both completely off.
Tried through both WiFi and cellular?
